I think the modular Ford V8, and particularly the aluminum GT version with the S/C would be right at home in the Pantera's engine bay... much more so than an FE or B9. great thread... bringing back some good memories for me. mardyn

UFO, just noticed, were the headlights relocated on your red car? Very spiffy. mardyn

De Tomaso Pantera Pictures & Conversation

Well, mine's not quite up to snuff with the ones posted so far, but it was pretty cool to be a single guy, cruising around DFW in this thing some twenty+ years ago now. Top & bottom pics were taken at Texas Stadium parking lot circa 1985. Middle photo was taken in my parents driveway in...

Superformance or Race Car Replicas GT40

Both are good choices... want originality? go with the SPF, want the coolest aluminum chassis with a bunch of beautiful CNCd parts, RCR has it down to a science. I might lean a bit towards the SPF as they're pretty much assembled, painted, & ready to go.. just add your own power and a T/A and...

Texas Mile March 27-29th 2009 Registration open

I'd like to go this year as well... but I'd be driving my car from North East Texas down to Beeville... maybe just spectating or perhaps making an easy (if there is such thing) run down the track.... and then driving home. Can anyone give me the skinny on the schedule? Maybe arrive on Friday...

    3:90 Gear

Man, I want a 3.90 set up for my car. Back in the olden days, I went from 3.23s to 3.91s in my '71 Dodge Challenger (340/727TF) and it was night and day difference.... I suspect the GT would love 'em just as much. mardyn

Porsche 917 - ultimate car porn....

'Bout how many 917s did they make? Wow, did I read that correctly? 1/4 mile ET @ 7.3 seconds? Holy crap! Can that be right? mardyn

Porsche 917 - ultimate car porn....

The 917-30 was the turbo version for Can Am? Is that correct? mardyn

    Barrett in general

I predict the Reggie Jackson/green ZL1 Camaro will be this year's BJ scamola... 16 pages of comments (including some from one of the former owners) regarding the "trumped up" status of this particular car. Any way, I enjoyed watching the auction this year again. Would love to attend in person...

Bush pardoned the two border patrol agents!

Don't think it was a full pardon... I think he just commuted the prison sentence, but the conviction still stands... mcuh like Scooter Libby. Either way, good move by GW on the way out the door. mardyn

New owner,First thread, warn me please.

Don't use the parking brake after washing the car and putting it back in the garage... (wet rotors + parking brake + time = pads stuck to rotors and hence no vehicle movement.... yeah, I know, I wouldn't have believed it either 'til it happened to my GT) Welcome to the club. mardyn

    Pantera

pantera I was scanning a few pics for another project and ran across this old pic of my Pantera. Sold it back in 1988 to fund the start up costs for my new business, but it was fun while I had it. Rust was always an issue and mine was no exception... we battled it from day 1. anyway, fond...

    Ford GT factory battery tender

So this damn thing is strictly to maintain the charge level, and not to recharge? I've been using mine about once a month to keep (what I thought) a hi-level of charge in the battery. I used it once two years ago, to recharge the battery after it had set for a few months without driving...

    Oh Oh

Interesting set up on the yellow TT-GT. Do I see that correctly? TT's presurize a plenum that contains an intercooler that feeds the OEM style super charger while retaining the OEM intercooler also? That's just pretty damn cool. I love the matte black finish too. mardyn
