As some know, the owner of the company is none other than the "monster garage" thread, and a good friend of mine.
LPE have been "sandbagging" it as much as they can with this car... always leaving more left on the table, even if the power is already there to do more. Additionally, they have...
It looks nice... no, fantastic on the inside, and pretty good on the oustside. The rear... edgy, but doesn't quite do it for me. I don't see RR in it myself... RR is about simplicity... and numatic in feel. At least, that is my experience.
The owner of this car spent quite a bit of time negotiating a fair price. Obviously far less than what it cost. If I remember right, there were receipts for 6 figures more than a 288 actual MSRP was. The man who commissioned it was later discovered to be a scam artist with money to burn.
The...
A friend of mine has a 308 that was a "no expense spared" 288 conversion when it was built. It makes 30 more hp than a F40 LM... and really is an amazing machine.
If you want, I can put you in contact with the builder of this machine to throw out some ideas ;)
John O'Quinn was the prime lawyer for the Tobacco settlement... a little over 10 years ago I think.
RIP to a fine collector. I once heard a story from a friend of Jerry Moore comparing the two collections. "He did it his way, and we did it our way." That is always the nature of large car...
The speed is really impressive; but somebody needs to do something about the pipes. This is an exhaust tune for your grandmother (assuming she's not a gearhead at all)
Thanks for the compliments :)
No, the lambo is not Ray's...
I had a chance to drive a couple of G's last year, one was a SL, the other a 560. from a dig, the 560 had noticeably more grunt. I can imagine with the Turbo's, this car is similar.
Seems that Wax (one of the moderators) has done just that now. I really can't understand blaming the news on the messenger, and ignoring the message altogether. I am glad to be a small part in the GT forum, which is obvious it really is something special here like few other sites manage to...
MB offered a similar 100k off SLR coupe's when they started to stop moving off the showroom floor...which in turn instantly devalued existing SLR's... McLaren don't care, as their contract is to build the cars, not sell them.
Rich asked me to put these up. Friday we got together for some photos of his car with much of the work that the GT Guys do. Hopefully this will help everybody get a good idea both of the high quality of work, and what the products might look like on a GT

Neilda, nice work!
I'd probably make the body shell a 30-40% transparency layer blend rather than a pure layer mask "cut"
Oddly enough, I've never done this type of car chopping.

Seems this photo has already made the rounds on the net, and is being PS'd poorly already.
Pictures were from Friday, not Thursday... I believe that GT belongs to Bill. I am not sure, but I think there was no ticket issued. The cop stated "I was hoping you'd do that again" and pulled him over for making an illegal right turn. His car has Ford Racing pipes... sounded incredible :)
