Do you plan to change the clutch fluid also? What interval is recommended for clutch fluid? At every brake fluid flush (2 years), or changing clutch fluid with every other brake fluid flush (4 years)?

Yes, plan on doing the clutch and the trans fluid, as well. Not sure on the recommended interval.

if you can get the Stillen clutch that’s your best bet on clutch replacement

What did you use for seat conditioning? Anyone have suggestions for overall interior protection? Leather, seals, etc. thanks

Tandy leather has good leather products, I have used for years. Their conditioner smells like new leather.

Clutch and brake fluid should be done at the same time. They use the same spec brake fluid. The reason for changing them is that they absorb moisture over time, which will lead to corrosion inside the brake or clutch system. It doesn’t depend on usage, but the humidity of your environment. If you live in the eastern and southern humid environments, change every two years or so. If you live in the mountain west or southwest, you can go 5 years. Most shops now have a meter for measuring moisture in the brake fluid, so if in doubt, get it checked.

Great that you were able to see him from a distance and not adding a bear hood ornament.
All take care out there and be safe.

Took my 82 year old Mother for her first ride yesterday. Despite all the warnings, yep she hit her head slightly on the way out....she claims she didn't, but pride goeth before the head bump I guess.

I kept the rpms below 2k for the most part, but did get on boost a couple of times. She said she liked the car

From someone who has replaced a couple of dozen clutches, the Stillen would actually be our last choice. The OEM clutch is a very good clutch at a reasonable price point (so far) and obviously the fitment is perfect. The OEM clutch works very well in any GT where RWHP is at below ~750. Next up for us would be the clutches from Spec. They have 4 different clutches for the GT - each for different horsepower levels. As you shop a clutch for higher HP levels, you get improved clamping force but at the expense of a higher clutch effort and a little trickier engagement feel. The spec clutch fitment has always been like OEM for us. Finally, the Stillen clutch is similar to OEM in HP limitations but unlike OEM and Spec, there were funky spacers/adapters for the throwout bearing to adapt it to a GT application. With the OEM for stock to 750RWHP and several Spec clutches to choose from - none requiring adapters for the GT, we stopped recommending/installing the Stillen clutches a decade ago.

OK, just to clarify my GT does not need a new clutch, I just need to flush the clutch fluid(still on the list). Good information on clutches for future reference, should I need to replace. I did not know Stillen used spacers. Many of the SPEC twin disk clutches, do have a 100% free floater, that can make some noise when the clutch is disengaged. I have a SPEC twin disk clutch in one of my other cars, and it has held up very well. Took the GT to a "Supercars" car show over the weekend. There was good Ford representation(3 FGTs and 2 NGTs) at the show.

Ok. So met up with 2 AWESOME PEOPLE today from the forum. Dave and Vaughan.
we met at Vaughan’s place with the intention a spirited drive and return. 2-1/2 hours later after chatting and great conversation, we finally departed for a great drive through the Halton hills.
Magnificent company, drive and day.
Thanks to Dave and Vaughan. Don’t worry Vaughan, the rubber will buff right out of your street. 😁
