No you must specify that you want the most recent builds.

I called Tire Rack, and the guy was able to put me on hold, and check on the specific tires I was buying. All showed 2019, and that's how they arrived.

Wow! I ordered mine yesterday from Tire Rack and I got them this morning. I live in Tampa, not sure where they left from as I never got a chance to check the tracking. Looks like my rears were made in January of this year and fronts in mid July of 2019 so not too shabby. Now to get them swapped out -----

Do you have a shop you trust to not mar your wheels? That's the problem I had around '99 here in Gainesville: We apparently had so few cars with 'big' wheels that many shops couldn't deal with 18" wheels properly, much less 19's and now 20s, 21s etc. I haven't needed to check again since then.

Discount Tire told me that these would not fit on my stock rims 2006 FGT.
Are they correct?

Fronts are: 265/40ZR-18 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE050A N1 (PORSCHE)
Rears are: 345/35R-19 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE050A SCUDERIA

They might be saying that just because they are not the same size as the OEM tires, numerically or physically. The "-18" and "-19" part of the size is the wheel diameter, so that's a no brainer: A -18 tire doesn't fit on anything but an 18" diameter wheel (no matter what you might see in the 'hood! :p). The 265 part is the tire width in millimeters, and the 40 part is aspect ratio which is the tire's height (aka sidewall) expressed as a percentage of the tire width. So a tire with a /40 means its height is ~40% of its width. As far as the Bridgestone's fitting, or not, we already know they do since quite a few GT owners have already been using them for years. Plus, Bridgestone's site says:

265/40ZR-18 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE050A fits an "APPR. RIM WIDTH" of 9.0-10.5, and the GT's stock front width wheel is 9 inches
345/35ZR-19 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE050A fits an "APPR. RIM WIDTH" of 11.5-13.5, and the GT's stock rear width wheel is 11.5 inches

https://www.bridgestonetire.com/tire/potenza-re050a/265-40zr18

... so they definitely fit.

I remember Discount also questioning my Bridgestone tire order but they fit fine. Consensus was to run them at 30 psig.

My full set arrived and all are recent production. Had tire dealer talk with the warehouse and confirm prior to shipment, and upon arrival.

Many thanks for your outstanding explanation! The tires have been ordered!

I realize now that I didn't discuss other tire parameters like overall diameter and width. If the tire is wider that OEM, it can of course rub the fenders and/or fender liners, front and/or rear - Others on here would have to respond as to how likely that is. And if the tire diameter is different than OEM, significantly enough, that can cause your speedometer to read wrong (or could actually improve it if it's inaccurate from the factory!), and on vehicles with traction control it's possible for the wrong diameter tire(s) to cause the traction control to malfunction, possibly to where the car doesn't even run right!

That said ... I don't think you have to worry about any of these things since guys on here have already been running the Bridgestones (y) Carry on! 😁 🍻

The fronts are smaller by a hair....The rears are about stock to Good years.
Ive done 100,000 miles on them, No drone, no cold tire hockey puck grip.
They are nite and day to the goodyears. Both are old by todays standards but just a wonderful overall tire.
