Autobog has pictures and a report showing the 1st Veyron wrecked. It happened in the UK.

Damnit Deiter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that there isn't a slew of Veyron in two peices (recalling all the enzo's that met similar demises) to follow

I think there will be alot more Veyrons to follow. There fast cars and in the wrong hands all the driving aides in the world cant help you.

Does anyone have a link?

'Doesn't LOOK like a "total" ...but, the fix will be "spendy"...

They say the cause was hydroplaning.
#1. WHY would that car be out in the rain anyway, and,
#2. WHY would one be "hot footing it" in the rain with a car like THAT regardless??

It's out in the rain because the owner didn't care if the car got wet. A lot of people feel the same way about their cars they are made to be driven.

Also AWD gives a large sense of security, even in wet weather, but obviously just like with GTs there was probably a problem with driver skills.

(1) No argument there, Sir! I'm admittedly as "anal" as one can get about that stuff - especially with a supercar!:lol

(2) this is the main reason I'm anal about #1. THAT and the fact that the "other guy" has just as crappy a contact surface to operate on - AND NUNNA THE "ELECTRONIC NANNIES" (most likely) to help him correct a screw up as he tries to maneuver/brake.

As Autobog stated -

"For a car with an MSRP well over a million bucks, we assumed that when hydroplaning is detected the car would immediately enter hovercraft mode, but we now know that's not the case. ":lol

The owner obviously thought it had the Hovercraft feature:ack

And, we're all assuming the Veyron hit something, when mebbe IT was the one that was hit by sumbuddy/something ELSE?????:shrug
Admittedly, the "hydro" part pretty much condemns the "Bug's" driver ...but, one never knows...:frown

From BBC website today. Wet leaves are blamed for accident. Car hit a van with no injuries.

A little paint will fix that right up.
