Hi guys. After a morning winter blizzard and a hard day at work, I arrived home from work and on the counter delivered by courier was the hard cover book " FORD GT-Americas Supercar Returns. It is a limited edition book". Along with a nice letter form Ford's David Greenberg VP General Marketing Ford Canada.
Thanks Ford for the gift. It is very thoughtful and appreciated.
I haven't even opened yet. Here are the pics.

Very Very COOL!!!:thumbsup :banana :biggrin :cheers

Wow, you must be special. I had to buy mine for $165.00 through my local dealer. Enjoy! :thumbsup

Got the same thing via courier today as well:thumbsup
Now I wish I hadn't bought the one off ebay a couple of months ago:thumbsdow

Oh well with two maybe I can be like Noah:biggrin

Not 4N congrats. I wonder if this was a mass mail out to all Canadian ownwers??

All Ford dealers got one from Ford when the cars were first under construction. If you read close you will see that the car had a few changes before it reached the dealers but after the book was written ie. reported 500 hp.

I own a printing company, one of my vendors preformed the bindry on this book for a competitor and I can tell you from a printing point of view it is a piece of art. After printing, it was completely assembled by hand in Az (most jobs like this are now assembled in Mexico :frown ) taking many many hours and costing Ford a small fortune.
The bindry house says it continues to be one of there most sought after samples.

I think it was, I know a few owners around here and I will check to see if they got it as well.

This book is amazing and I can understand why they would want it as a sample - top notch all the way.

:cheers

Any how.. that's pretty cool that they did that!!

SteveA I agree. I took the plunge and opened it up. The paper quality is excellent. I have never seen so many pull outs. flaps in all directions and different sizes, and multiple layers before. A great piece of work. Definetly a collectable and a keeper.

The paper is archival (ph balanced), very pricey. It should last many years before it starts to yellow.
I have mine reshrink wrapped everytime it is autographed. Keeping the air from it will go a long way to keeping it nice.:thumbsup

SteveA thx for the advise in additional preserving of this piece of art work.:thumbsup

I received one a while back before Christmas. Very impressive, but if you wish to keep it in pristine condition you might want to use the stamp collectors cotton gloves as it fingerprints very easily on the mat black surfaces. I was excited and drooled on mine. Rats.

sr71 if I haven't said it already- welcome. Good to see another canuck join the forum. I rec'd my second book for the second car week before last. Also with a letter from David Greenberg. Also was lucky to also recieve the FORD GT Highlights dvd as well. This is a great video, giving some tips on the car, the superbowl add of the GT, the making of the same and the trio add.
Can't wait for spring to get her back on the road!!

You guys in Canada must be special.

I was very kindly sent this book some while ago by members of this forum - it has never been fully opened (so as not to stretch the binding) - just merely peeked inside!! It sits proudly on a shelf in my study at home, partly as a reminder of the immediate generosity of this group.

:cheers

Does anyone know where you can get this book from?

The book was included with every 2005 car - although a few dealers kept the book and didn't tell the customers.

You can buy extras from Saleen for $100 a copy.

You could also order them from Helm for $100. Look for old posts where and how.

I thought you Canadian guys might like this (if you haven't already seen it.)

If the article is true, they should crush both cars...
Two idiots.
