That is insane.

Don't let these men park your GT.

That video is disturbing. I wonder how many spectators are killed watching that madness every year. Good grief.

Chip

How are more spectators not killed?

Now you know where the Focus RS comes from. Take a ride with Jeff Mosing sometime and you'll know the feeling.

craziness! but I like it!

Let's just say that litigation isn't a cottage industry in and of itself as it is here.

That compilation of rallying clips comes from all over Europe including Ireland, Finland and pretty much everywhere else. It also has some very old stuff on there.

The days of the Group B cars saw a sea of spectators parting in front of the cars - that was seriously crazy. After some big accidents in those days safety at events has improved a great deal - but motorsport is of course inherently dangerous for spectators and competitors alike.

'Will say again what I've said before: anyone who stands right beside the road when watching a race like that is just plain asking for it....especially those who choose to stand on the outside radius of turns/corners.

'Sorry, but, there definitely has to be something seriously wrong with how those folks are 'wired'...

Chip, the production company that made the fabulous documentary, "Grand Prix -The Killer Years" followed it up with "Rallying -The Killer Years". It shows all the horrors of when rallying was out of control, which is why the killed-off the insane Group 4 stuff.

and for good reason... seems like there were a lot of people with death wishes... in the cars and on the side of the roads!

Also, remember the Le Mans races and other venues in the past were not all that safe either... there was a horrible crash at Le Mans in 1955. People standing right next to the track and on the side of the road. Looked like many lost their life that day.
