GT500-a blunt instrument

Thanks!

SFSDFGT-since you have widened wheels, give these M&H drag radials a try:

They hook very well.

The driveshaft is from Performance Shaft Technologies. Not only is it light, but the pinion end has a CV joint like oem. Most of the aftermarket shafts use slip yokes.

when mine are worn out, maybe I'll give them a try! Thanks for the tip.

No problem. Keep in mind the CV joint does not extend or compress as much as a slip yoke, so it is important to get the length right. I was able to easily adjust the axle position with adjustable control arms. However, PST will make the driveshaft any length to suit your requirements.

Time for a new GT500 project.

What are your plans power wise? May "The Boost" be with you!

:lol

I'm thinking 730ish rwhp. I bought another set of rear SVTPP wheels to have widened. I'm going to try the Toyo R888 315/30R20s.

Im looking forward to the build of the car! It is going to be cool!

I'm really looking forward to it too. The 5.8 is an incredible engine. I'm planning the modifications and found out the stock fuel system is good to well over 750rwhp.

GT500 traction on the way. . .

Speed limit "45"... ha chuckle.....

I really like the feel of the 2011+ cars with the lightened front end, especially the 2013-2014's...

That's in his garage!!!

While W. Mitty contemplates his 7 figure hypercar purchase, I agonize over the idea I have to turn my 2008 GT500 into a vapor-colored street legal version of this:

Such is the difference in our respective disposal income. :lol

I've never really liked the look of the aftermarket intakes for the GT500, so I modilfied an OEM airbox for the 2014 GT500 to accept the 123mm Ford Racing Cobra Jet MAF housing and air tube. It should look OEM when I get it all put together.

Very nice!

The Cobra is FANTASTIC. I just love it. I hate to say it, but it is every bit as fun to take out for a joyride as the GT. My wife disagrees. :lol

Thanks Pacettr.

Clint, the Cobra scratches an itch that nothing else can touch. Yours is a real beauty.

That is exactly what happened at my house. I loved it, she hated it and would not get in it and made a vampire cross whenever she walked by it. I upgraded to the GT with A/C, regular seat belts with shoulder belt, and a place to plug in her iPod.

P.S. Even your opinion might change after getting caught in your first thunderstorm. :) You're OK until (1) the water starts to channel in around the door and (2) you have to stop. Water will also spill over the top of the windshield to the inside and there is a good chance it will also fog up so keep a rag nearby (I stored one behind my seat).
