Hello board,

just wondering if this a known problem (as the dash gauges fail like most know) or perhaps few owners happend the same as this 1k mile GT that is not working properly the wiper motor.

The two first positions(speed) doesn't do anything, also doens't work the "tilt down", only works in max speed. Now, if I switch back to off position the contrl switch, the wiper baldes will stop at any position, they won't stay at the bottom like every normal car.

Any tips/feedback are welcome!

While posted this, I didn't check for the diagnosis yet, but we were testing the OEM OPTIMA battery to see how's the health of it.

Thanks

Try pressing the hood fully closed. I can't recall what the signs were, but if the hood is not FULLY closed (front hood), then the wipers don't work correctly (at all??). Anyway, it's a first step.

In fact, see this post from Fubar: http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/s...-dash-stays-on&p=238274&viewfull=1#post238274

"Door ajar issue: You can test to see if your front bonnet is open by tapping the windshield wiper button. If the front bonnet IS open the wiper will not return to its proper rest position."

Look in your owner's manual. It describes the problem. The front trunk (bonnet) is not closed completely. We have old posts here about it.

Thanks for the tip guys. The front trunk was open testing the battery with a Midtronics equippment and while turning ON all the loads of the car (electric components) I noticed a inconsistent working operation of the wiper motor. Now fully closed the trunk, the wiper motor will work like it should!

By the way, anyone knows what's the original CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) of the battery? Usually all the batteries says on the label, but htis OEM FORD OPtima black battery doesn't say the CCA and it's required to introduce this value to our Midtronics battery tester/charger to determinate the health of the battery.

if anyonw knows this value, please let me know.

Thanks again!

Hey Diego...the OEM battery is no longer available, but it was made by Optima. This is the Optima replacement. http://www.optimabatteries.com/us/e...atteries-8025-160-25-redtop-starting-battery/. Don't know if it is the same spec as OEM, but 720 CCA should be close.

Maybe someone else here can confirm that for you.

By the way, this is an AGM battery with very specific charging requirements.

The GT labeled original battery is available through Ford parts.

Yes, that's what I came after searching for the Optima replacement. I know it's AGM and is specific charging setup, the Midtronics equipment we have in beyond a standar AGM/LEAD battery charger/diagnose system :) but thecharger needs the specific CCA of the battery to get a accurate report of the health of the battery.

The OEM battery still crank up the engine fine, however by giving the 720 CCA input, the state of health it's 50%, thoughm, the report shows as "GOOD BATTERY".

Thanks for all the help.

True I just bought one for my car a few months ago.
