New to Me, Ford GT

After having the hots for a GT for some time - like years - I finally took the leap. Had a couple instances where other cars got sold and created some space, some capital. Since I wanted a car I could put some miles on, the 'high mileage' (relative) GTs were more attractive to me.

I ended up with a Tungsten 4 option car (VIN 1FAFP90S06Y401415) that had been driven 19k miles by its first owner, another 12k by its second. The records were very supportive of good, regular care. If anyone knows anything about this car via the VIN, any info would be great to have. PM or post here.

It should be here tomorrow or the day after, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Appreciate all the education and information gleaned from this fantastic forum.

Congratulations on the new car. Send a PM to AZSTAD. He owned it at one point.

Have fun! :cheers

Congrats, AH! :thumbsup

Prepare yourself for 20 minute gas stops and interrupted meals at restaurants!

Oh, and you may as well go ahead and put a folding chair next to your GT's parking spot right now. :wink

Congrats and welcome !! :cheers Drive the car and enjoy it !!

Congratulations! Great color choice.

Just passed 10K on ours.

Being close, you should definitely come to the rally next week.

HA! May as well get prepared while I wait for the truck to arrive, instead of looking out the window every 4 minutes. Good thinking.

Yep, I have some short jaunts planned. Longer than that, and I guess I'll install the first Ford GT roof rack.

Congrats from Oslo

Thank you, from Montgomery Alabama!

Congratulations! Just in time to drive it to the Rally. :biggrin

HA! Man, I'd love it. The pictures look fantastic!

Congratulations and welcome to our special Group.

I give you about six months before you start to consider your second GT!:biggrin Welcome and be safe!

Congrats on a great ride. My GT has north of 30k miles and shows very little signs of wear. The car really is built Ford Tuff!

DBK is the forum owner and organizes an annual Rally. This year the rally will be in New Orleans, not too far from your part of the country. It’s a GREAT way to get to know the car. This community really is a big part of the ownership experience. If you are a GT nut like most of us around here, you will really like the fact that much of the original Ford build team will be in attendance. They are happy to tell you stories related the cars development and sign whatever part of the car you ask. Plus you get a day or two at the race track with the God of Thunder, aka the Ford GT!

Shoot DBK a PM for details.

Dave, is this Goliad?

Was there ever video from that helicopter that was hovering around and filming as we pulled in?

Been watching for something, but don't remember seeing anything , unless I just missed it.

Jeff

It is. The videographer took a lot of footage from the helicopter. He never ended up editing anything out of it beyond the following footage. I'm gonna go see if I can steel it all and edit it myself just to see various people's cars on the runway.

Sorry to hijack your thread AHudson!

Great choice!

Mileage GTs are proven to be great runners!

Use every weekend

Thanks DBK - I was wondering what happened to all that video. Looking forward to more.
