What a riot this thing is to drive, I picked it up last night and have had a blast with it so far.

I want one!! How much more fun can you get out of it Torrie?

Larry

Details of that will be released shortly.

Cool. I didn't know they were out yet. Keep us posted.

Will do.

Is this the 2 liter ecoboost? My new Escape with the 2 liter just came in and I pick it up next weekend. Interested in hearing about a tune.

Precisely Frank same engine backed by a different trans. All knowledge gained will be transferable to the escape, edge, explorer, taurus and anything else using that powertrain. I drove a 2.0L escape a few weeks ago and liked it.

I had it over in Sanford at SCT today for use in a video and development.

Keep us posted!

Will do.

Awesome. I could see a tuned EcoBoost 2013 Fusion as a daily driver.

That is why I am in the middle of this right now.

Update!

Vehicle is still in development:
1. Flashing works
2. Software works
3. Firmware and software will work back and forth with calibrations to test stability, find parameters and ensure flashing is solid, then it will go to QA to test.

Will have more information as tests are passed. Completion should be within 2 weeks.

Stock run data below 87 Octane. Note how Engine coolant temperature plays a massive role in end power output once you get to real world temperatures. Also note that Cat over temp is also to blame for the upper RPM power reduction.

Runfile 012 @ 145 degrees ECT
Runfile 013 @ 185 degrees ECT
Runfile 014 @ 196 degrees ECT

As temperatures increase COT kicks in and timing decreases.

Wow! Should be good off the line for a little tyke.

I have the first SCT tuned Focus ST on the planet right now. SCT will release the dyno sheets next week I would estimate on Monday. Shortly after that I’ll move into modifying the vehicle and working through various stages of tuning and outline what we gained power with and what we didn’t.

This powertrain runs out of turbo almost instantly.

This powertrain runs out of turbo almost instantly.

What does this mean? Are speaking of the gearing, or it just does not produce boost through the entire rpm range?

It means that the turbo out of the box is very well matched to its intended stock purpose. You can only push it so far and it goes past max efficiency so an upgrade will be required to make more power above what we have so far with a completely stock engine.

Thanks!

I test drove an ST on Friday and I was very impressed, I see one
In my garage soon!
