I'm thinking of doing this, but would like to hear from others if it worked out ok. It's amazing to me that this can even be done and look decent. Shelby says it's pretty good, but not the perfection he usually demands on "his" cars......comments from others?

What color is yours and what would you change it to?

white on red to silver on red......I have another car with this scheme and think it looks amazing, and I'd like to differentiate just a little........

Since the factory stripes are painted I wouldn't know why not...

We have done this for several customers. While it can be done to look very good, if you look REAL close, you will see some seems, etc, which personally bugs me as picky as I am.

OK.....well I'm thinking hard on it......

So give it a shot and try a small portion. I'd recommend the front since the details in the louvers will take a quite lot of labor. Like Shelby said you will have some overlap that will show through.

I think jcthorne here did it. Silver on Blue. Looked very good. It is vinyl so you can always take it back off.

Yes, we did his

And yes, it looks VERY good. Devil is in the details though. The craftsman that mitered corners, curves and body indentations really knew what he was doing. BUT, my car was solid blue, no stripes to cover. Trying to do vinyl stripes OVER existing stripes makes the job more diffecult as not only the lines need to be correct, but all existing stripe must be covered.

In the end, its still vinyl stripes not paint but the look is very good and can be changed back without damage to the car. I am VERY happy with my results from Shelby.

The louvers are painted.

Its easy to return to stock if you don't like it. I want to see somebody use the electro-reactive vinyl on their car. It will either be super awesome.... or not.

Yes, the vent MUST be painted. Impossible to wrap those

Good excuse to upgrade to billet!

Been there and done that.....Was Shelby's wise suggestion at the time.

I think black stripes with black wheels would look great on a red car. I am sure 2112 would agree.

There is a company that sells pre-cut stripes for the GT. I had them installed on my GT. Gloss black on top of my matte black wrap. I think it looks factory. I had a guy that claimed to be a car painter want to know what type of paint I used, but never had anyone point out the seams.
