And, without starting a whole new debate - all TT installs are NOT equal. We had a TT car in the shop recently. Although it did 200MPH+ in the mile, it was an absolute dog to drive on the street. It had a very narrow and very high RPM power band that substantially detracted from the driving pleasure of the car. When it left our shop - albeit still with a TT-only set-up, we had brought the power in 2000 RPM sooner (3500 vs 5500) and, for example, we had 300 MORE HP at 4,000 RPM than when the car arrived.
So, the real question is to design the installation for what you want to do with the car. Depending on what you want - this may either be accomplished with a TT or TT+SC, or even a Whipple. Within each of these, there is a wide degree of performance characteristics that can be controlled.
