I can't tell if I like this or not. I like the rear 80% of the car, but I'm still not a fan of the grille. The beltline looks cool and the dead on view looks good but I'll have to see it in person to judge. Concept shmoncept. This is pretty much the new car.

I guess all Lincolns are getting these full length retractable glass roofs and 8 speed automatics. We'll see how people respond to that.

Where are the door handles?

full legth retractable roof? grill has a Victoria Secret angel wings look to it.

Rear 3/4 view is Aston Martin; Callum must have initiated that section - really is beautiful. As to the front, Mgmt. has bought into that 'double wing' grille feature as a key design element of the new Lincoln - IMO, the new global face of Ford (also AM in character) is far away superior.

Of note, during the intro Ford identified the targeted audience for the brand - buyer demographic as a sophisticated/discerning customer. Reading the copy, I read/heard the word "BESPOKE". I understand that 'promise', I wonder if Lincoln is prepared to support that commitment? e.g. Do I really get the option of spec'ing choice of materials for my interior?

It has the potential of being a game changer ( and we surely need one). If the brand promise is really per the copy, it might successfully re-establish/re-position the Lincoln brand. We'll see.

From the c-pillar back it looks almost A7 like. The vertical bars on the grill are an improvement over the horizontal bars on other Lincolns - make the car look lower and wider.

Key will be execution - eg quality of interior materials - nothing must look like it comes from a Ford. In addition to charge a premium over a Ford not only must the interior be higher quality but some unique engines would help differentiate the car as well.

Toughest hurdle to Lincoln turnaround will be the dealers - going to your local Ford/Lincoln store is not a Mercedes-like experience.

Reverse that description. Another case of typing faster than I thought.

Not a fan of the front grill, the rest of the car is sharp looking!!!!

The problem of most new cars are that they are Homologation of many other cars. This car seems to have a Hyundai, BMW, Audi, and many other aspects blended in it that it confuses the eye rather than attract/focus it. The inside is kick ass but if Lincoln thinks this is a game changer, then think again. Of course my opinion is worthless!

BTW, being marketed to the elderly, will it it use Microsoft SYNC or the Apple Interface?:willy:willy:willy

yes!!!

Nice..............Lincoln has lost so much market share, I hope Ford plans a very agressive ad campaign to get back into the game.

Will it use the Taurus fwd/awd platform?

I like it too. Definitely way better than the current offering.

Hope it becomes a game changer for Lincoln.

It uses the Fusion fwd/awd platform. The MKS is based off the Taurus, MKT off the Flex and MKX off the Edge.

Not a fan of the front...looks like wings. The rest is okay but over all does not do it for me.

First thing that came to mind looking at the front grill is Jack Nichelson's joker face in Batman

I'd liked to have seen a modern day 'stylization' of the pseudo Rolls grill that 'Marks' had back in the day myself. (The '72 MK IV grille has always been my own personal fav.) Lincolns just haven't looked like Lincolns to me since Ford dropped those. I'd also like to see the hood 'stretched' about 6" (with the front wheels moved fwd accordingly). 'Just my own preferences.

Overall I do like the car. It just doesn't say "Lincoln" to me though.

Side profile reminds me of Bentley Continental. I like it.

Of course. Silly me. I can't believe I confused the MKZ with the MKT, or was it the MKS? Perhaps it was the MKX. I would fire the person responsible for these alpha designations. This would be a good place to start if Ford wants to turn Lincoln around.

That issue I completely agree with. The MK* model names NEED TO GO.
