An interesting behind the scenes look at November 15th.

I thought Hitler might weigh in!

:lol

I see some similarities between the new Camaro and Kim Jong Il.

That's very funny.

Do you have any Ford HQ chatter on what's up with this? Jalopnik must have this wrong.

"Chevy Challenges Ford To Muscle Car Fight, Ford Takes Bat, Goes Home"

Yeah, they think it's a typical GM clown response. Does GM think the cars aren't going to end up on a racetrack together in the US? Uh, no. Does GM think they can beat GT500 in 0-60, quarter mile, high speed, all of which are way more realistic for 99% of owners? Uh, no. Does GM honestly believe Ford will take the bait on an empty challenge to waste a bunch of time and money sending cars and staff to Germany so GM can maybe hopefully eek out a miniscule victory at a race track 99.9999% of their customers will never see? Uh, no. There's a reason they didn't issue a challenge at a specific track both cars have already been at here, and I'm sure it's because they've already been told they are slower. But hey, hang on to hope, even if the reality is your customers almost unanimously prefer drag racing to road racing.

GM would get a lot less grief if they didn't act like butt hurt little girls, but that's what they do best. I mean seriously, who writes a letter to their customers saying their competition should thank them for inspiring them to beat their ass so bad?

It looks like the 2013 GT 500 was already at The Ring...

They must have done some hot laps. Do you think you can find out what time the car did there? If it was better than the ZL1 do you think they would have published it?

Yeah, months ago with major components that have completely changed in the interim. Ford has been at the Ring with plenty of cars and never "published" a time for any of them. That's GM's gimmicky obsession.

Let me put it this way, they had to shut down the thread at over 1,000 posts on the Camaro board after Ford announced 650/600/200. Think there would be a 2 page thread if Ford ran 7:42 at the Ring? Only if people from Chevy were paid to post in it.

I've driven my GT at The Ring and it's an amazing track. Formula 1 races were held there until the 1970's when, after a number of driver deaths, drivers boycotted the track and Formula 1 moved the German race to another venue. As you know many auto enthusiasts consider it to be the most overall demanding test of a car. That's why so many manufacturers go there to test their high performance cars. Both the new GT 500 and the ZL1 have been there. As only one point of comparison it would be interesting to know what times both cars put down.

That vid is absolutely hilarious!

Nicely done as usual Dave.
Wish someone would/could post it on the Camero Forum.....

And just for the record, to get a "Ring Time", you have to shut it down and rent it exclusively for that purpose, otherwise you enter at the start/finish. You have to book it months in advance because you can only do that during industry days. When Ford was there last time, they chose to use it for tuning, rather than marketing purposes.

'Highest and best use' of resources, for sure!

Bring your seat belt for this ride, if like EVERY other sale Ford has offered for JDRF......

Any guesses on the 'hammer price'?

Wasnt the Boss like 600k, or something?

$450K if I recall correctly.

600, 450, eh, what the difference.... (actually a sh-t load of $.......)

Oh , nooooo....

Is this the sound of a gauntlet dropping??

These cars should be good for the respective tuner groups.
