shifter ball

Although I think the OEM sifter ball looks and feels ok in the GT I would like to replace it with a white one the same O.D. or slightly larger. My first car ( 57 chevy ) had a black interior with a white ball and all the gear box cars since have been the same combo. I have been unable to source a ball with the shift pattern required ( reverse up and to the left ) ....I suspect this pattern is specific to this tranny. In addition to the appropriate pattern I would like there to be NO printing anywhere else on the ball. Anyone have any info ? :biggrin
 
zchris on the forum was making those for a while he might have what your looking for, send him a pm.

Shifter ball works great... MUCH better than the OEM piece.

I ordered from Chris a red and a white bigger 2 1/4 " ball and he is making them for me. He won't do the GT logo anymore just the shift pattern. His email is [email protected]

Thanks guys. Yeah my engraver won't do the side logos any more, just the shift pattern. I can get "plain side" knobs in 2", 2 1/8", or 2 1/4" diameter, stock is probably around 2". Various colors for knob and lettering. Price is $30 shipped, but the order will take a few weeks. I'll be placing a knob order very soon, so anyone who is interested please contact me ASAP.

Also, can be had w/ stripes like on the 2010+ Mustang GT500 for $20 more (only in 2" or 2 1/8"). Sample pic w/ wrong pattern:

I can do any of our car colors for the knob color, lettering is best in black, white, or silver - they don't have the best shade of blue for letters. I am going to see about heritage orange.

Maybe something to do with lawyers.
 
Trademark concerns. Anyone producing unlicensed products with the FGT logo is subject to legal issues. In the past my engraver got slapped by Ford with something like a $20k bill for damages - not a warning - for using the Ford logo. Since then they will not respond to license requests. And they wonder why people make stuff without their permission...

John....I am in Medicine Hat (formerly known as the sunniest city in Canada ) It seems like it has been 3 yrs since I've seen the sun ! Perhaps you have been following the declarations of "disaster " due to the extensive flooding in our area. It is said that we are experiencing a "once in 1000 yr weather event". It is now 3 springs in a row that we have faced tens of millions of dollars in damage. This is making your weather in Edm look pretty nice !...never thought I'd hear myself say that !.....Should've left the gt in AZ I guess!!! Are you going to attend Rally 6 ?
