I spent a a little bit of time reading posts and could not find anything about the event. Generally positive comments and respect for the Ford GT. :thumbsup

Yeah, because you know how painful it is when you cross your forum troll.

I still can't believe how fast those damn Supra's are. Unreal. Way to "Get 'Er Dun" Mullet. You and Ray fly the Ford GT flag with real gusto. Bravo!

John,

When will we see the first Venom GT making a pass at the Texas Mile?? That would be a great place to show it off.

I was out working this morning (Dang, I had almost forgotten what that was) when I stopped by a customer/Friend who is the safety guy with the local SCCA club. He immediately brought up the fact that it was their course and timers they used for the film shoot of the GT/Supra Forum War this past weekend. He wanted to know if I knew the "MULLET". After confirmation he was very impressed with the GT's and Jason's ability in the slalom and road course. He was most impressed that the tires Jason chose worked well in all three types of racing. He mentioned that the film crew was very professional and did a total of ten segments of different forum wars while they were there. One of the SCCA members used his Subaru in one of the wars. The SCCA crew was there from before daylight till after dark and said it was a BLAST. Jason, My friend was the guy giving the Drivers Meeting, Larry Peek!

Ahh, very cool.

I took one of the producers for a joy ride after shooting and he kept saying over and over that he has to get one of these things. :biggrin

Hi Chip, we would love to run the Venom GT at a mile event such as Texas Mile at some point. Right now only 3 Venom GT's exist and they all reside outside of the USA. There will be a few in America later this year. So I will have to wait and see if the owners would want to run at the mile. The Venom GT was never designed as a "standing mile" racer. It just has too much downforce which is great for places like the Ring but not so good for maximum straight line performance. I would guess that our car running on pump gas might run high 220's or low 230's. That's fast but still 20+ mph off of what the top dogs are currently running. 2011 will be a good year for demonstrating the performance capabilities of the Venom GT. Running a big number in the mile just is not high on our priority list this year given the limited number of cars we will have on the road. Thanks for asking. See you in Scottsdale.
