I was feeling a tad cocky about my first place autocross trophy from last Sunday's BMWCCA event, in my MINI Cooper S, modified class.

Then I saw the above Ken Block Gymkhana video...Wow....Insanity.

Congratulations on Auto-x win!
Great looking S, what tires are you running?

Very cool

Just running the regular daily driver BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires, 225/35 18. This was my first official auto-x endeavor. Closest other auto-x type event was the fun El Toro Ford GT Rally Day with Saleen a couple years ago.

I was lucky to have an outstanding instructor in the morning practice session. He took the time to listen to my perspective from my early morning lap experience, and then looked carefully at my car and pointed out a lot of helpful information on how my front tires were wearing (some minor edge chunking), and what I should be listening for, and how to appropriately correct. It made a huge difference.

Nice Randy, well earned I'm sure. Have you ever considered a WRX?:biggrin

I am looking desperately for something with four doors and still fun to drive. I drove the Lotus Evora last night, and it was very nice, but a bit pricey.

I do love the sound of those WRX boxer engines.

I was looking at the WRX and also GTI when I bought the MINI. I thought the build quality overall of the MINI was better, but my MINI only has two doors. With the kids, I'm realizing a four door would be nice.

Basically, I want a cheaper Panamera or (new) M5.

Looking for something more refined than a EVO MR. Fun to drive, and reasonably practical, and under $60K.

Buy a used 2010 CTS-V, they are selling at the auction for under $50K. Take it to Kendall and do a Pulley/Tune and you will have the biggest kick ass 4 door sedan PERIOD. Buy an M5 and be prepared to hold on to it for ever, their resale is horrible..worst in class.

Congratulations! So what you are saying is your not quite as good as Ken Block, but probably close!:eek Nice trophy!:thumbsup

A pumped up SHO.

Very Impressive my friend!

Great handling and amazingly fun cars to drive. Here's my wife's new Laurel Edition Turbo Convertible .....

Very nice Viper Joe! I haven't heard of the Laurel edition. JCW package plus? I like the clean graphics on your ride.

Here's a another picture of "Charlize" - my Dinan 2006 Cooper S.

It doesnt seem like a GTI would fit your needs...

Nice GTI. I had an '84 Rabbit GTi for my second car, drove it through high school, undergrad, and law school. Loved that car.

I think I'll take another look. How have you enjoyed yours? Obey your Fast was the best ad campaign ever. Bummer that they are not still running those commercials, I found them hilarious!

What size shirt should I order for you Sam? Let me know if you like it.

The CTS-V is a great suggestion. I'll take a closer look.

And thanks Brian and Skyrex!!!

Any size...It will end up in the fire place. You can buy me an iPhone too if you like.
Let me know if you need help finding a good low mileage CTS-V at the auction.
BTW, Herb showed me the quality of the picture framer contact of yours - he does nice work.

Enjoy that GP!!! Coolest MINI ever.
