SO, about 2 weeks ago, my Dad and brother-in-law were headed to their first track day. I believe it was a Family Fun Ford Day at Road America in Wisconsin. Well, while sitting at a red light, KABLAAMMMM... they were rear-ended... and the below pictures are what followed.

Now, everyone is OK, Dad, brother-in-law and the little old lady from Pasadena:biggrin Thank Goodness.

I immediately called DBK, was given Rich's info from THEGTGUYS and calls were made and Rich will be handling the repairs....

My Dad drove the car the rest of the day to the event. No, they did not track it or anything but now it sits at there house waiting for LOVE and CARE.. They were both amazed at the strength of the GT, especially in the rear. The car tracked straight and was very stable at normal speeds, so I'm told.

There ya go!!!

'Sorry to hear about this, STUNTS.:frown:frown:frown

'Glad "the folks" are okay.

But, you COULD capitalize on a bad situation by going for a bumper delete now. 'Course, that bumper is likely the main thing that limited the damage to what there was...'something to think about for "down the road" in case some OTHER yo-yo repeats the exercise...:willy

(Edit: BTW...you 4got the attachment. 'Not too sure I wanna SEE it anyway...)

Oh man sorry to hear that Tim. Glad all were okay.

Was this a case of someone driving who SHOULDN'T be, or what exactly? Was this actually done by a lil' ol' lady, or someone asleep at the wheel? 'An IDIOT mebbe? 'Darryl Driftwood? 'Dialin' up a cell phone? What?

Real Bummer.

Looks lie the Odls was more heavily damaged, but the repairs Rich will do will be more expensive.

Glad no one was injured and the GT will soon be just as beautiful as before.

I guess there goes the father - son - grandson GT photo op.

It was unfortunately a 70 year old lady whose first words were, "I couldn't see anything because of the Glare from the sun". My dad attended to her and my bro-in-law told me my dad didn't flare abit off track to the uneasy side of things... He took it with a smile on his face and all...

Not yet, still planing on it and awaiting a call for pick up. Dad is going to send it off towards the end of August

Sorry to see this Tim. I was also rear ended in a parking, lot low speed hit. While the damage didn't look to bad from the outside, the damage inside was expensive. GT Guys to the rescue!!!!

I wonder how much worse it would have been without the rear bumper?

My 1st question to THAT "my-dog-ate-my-homework" statement/defense is: where WAS the sun exactly?

I have a gut feeling it WASN'T where it coulda been a factor.

Accusatory Pockets

sorry to hear that Tim, that blows, but as always, it could have been a lot worse! glad everyone was ok!

I'd be skeptical too except yesterday, while I was making a left hand turn from a stop, I almost tagged two pedestrians, they were none too amused and had choice words for the driver. They happened to be perfectly obstructed by the thick A pillar while I was stopped. As I went though the intersection I glanced to the left and right for red light runners (seen too many), started to turn left and "Holy S---" there they were. I wasn't accelerating hard so I stopped short. They were paying attention and stopped walking so they weren't directly in front of me. Still it was jolting and if I had hit them I'd have a lame sounding excuse to go with the disaster.

Lesson learned, take another look at the far corner when turning left and proceed with caution.

Wow, glad everyone was okay. Sometimes I worry about people being mesmerized by the car and forgeting to stop.

So glad to here that everyone is OK Tim! As we all know she will be as good as new in no time at all.

That sucks and right int he middle of driving season. Oh wait, your in SoCal, driving is always in season. Get 'er patched up and paint it blue. :rofl

But, STUNT'S dad was REAR ENDED.

The lil' ol' lady hit a car that was directly in front of her & was stopped at a red light...a red light that she ALSO shudda seen with ease had she been paying even a LITTLE BIT of attention. There shouldn't be ANYTHING that blocks one's vision when looking straight out through the windshield.

'Apples & ox carts IMO. 'Jus' sayin'... :cheers

Glad everybody is ok. I have had close calls in my GT people trying take pics and at the same time. It get a little scary at times.

My first reaction - glad everyone is ok, my second... I think I am going to be sick...puke.gif
Sorry to hear about the incident but thank God all are OK.

Always sad to see a GT damaged... glad everyone is OK, but very sorry to see the bumps.
