B.j. Sign of the times.........

I am guessing they were painted with different batches of paint, thus we see the metamerism. Might have all looked perfect under bright shop lights.

Found it. whew, took a while

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appl...st.aspx?year=2101&make=chevrolet&model=camaro

I think the nose piece is a little too long. Also poor color match with fenders. How much did it sell for?

The reason "no results" shows up when that link is clicked on is because "2101" Camaro was used for the search...

I agree with you, '12. The grille does stick out a bit too far forward when viewed from the side. IMO, the '67-'69 front end DOES look good from certain angles, but, overall the entire 2010 nose just works better on the 2010 body. ESPECIALLY the proposed Z/28 treatment.

Now the angle on tv looked so good, now that its in the lite, yes it looks a bit add on......But tweeked it could look real good.............i knew i really sw this thing........could be better but great start..enjoy gtjoey

Exactly.

It looks like they used an actual early Camaro grille, etc., and, as a result, the design PROPORTIONS are off just enough to mess up the final effect.

Just MHO.

I agree. though, If they had just tightened up the anterior-posterior length of the new nose, I think it would work.

The reason the Firebird noses work is because the took the original theme and proportioned it to the new car, IMHO of course.

Quite right. But, they needed that extra north/south length to "blend" the early grille to the WIDTH of the 2010 body. Without that extra length, the grille woulda looked like it was simply hung on a flat wall, if you follow me...

THERE YA GO! 'Zactly the front end I was talkin' about!

I do follow and agree.

I feel guilty luvin on a Chevy having spent my entire life bleeding Ford blue. :biggrin

Honestly, I would love to have a new Camaro and Challenger in the shed. :eek
.

'Sure wish I could get a look at it.

The front end on the yellow "Transformers" Camaro (supposedly the front end that the new Z/28 is going to get) REALLY puts the standard one to shame.

Has there been a confirmation from Chevy on the release of a Z/28? If so do you know when the car will be out and will it be released in a 'vert?

Thanks,

Rob

The latest word I read in the car rags is that it HAS been given the green light...in part because of the Mustang offerings. But, you know how all THOSE stories go. (We were SUPPOSE TO SEE a 350 V-8, RWD Monte Carlo [or was it a Baretta?] back when, too. AND a mid engine 'Vette. AND...)

And, AS USUAL, the dealers I've spoken to since I read that haven't HEARD squat, haven't SEEN squat, and don't KNOW squat.
'Personally? Since G.M. now stands for "Government Motors", I'll believe it when I see it ("bailout P.C." and all that, ya know...). It really wouldn't surprise me if, because of its financial independence (IOW - no bailout money baggage), Ford will be the ONLY "Detroit" outfit offering muscle cars before too long. Just MHO.

EDIT: 'Don't know about the 'vert Z/28. My personal GUESS is, "No", for multiple reasons.

I use to 'bleed Bowties', but, the way I've figgered it for the past couple decades now, if I LIKE IT - I'll BUY it. If I'd had the attitude, "It's G.M. or NUTHUN", when the FGT came out, I'd have missed out on owning THEE badddddest car that ever came out of Detroit.

(NEVER MIND, CLINTON/SAM, et al. Just never mind...)

:agree: I am/was a Chevy man. Actually prefer TAs to Camaros though....but never Mustangs. Never was a Chrysler guy even though I have a Prowler which is pretty unique (just needs V-8 rumble). Don't like Vipers even though I had one. Corvettes are great cars....bang for the buck, very low depreciation if you buy the right one, get great gas mileage, cheap to maintain....but kinda like Mustangs in there are way too many of them and to the average person somewhat indistinguishable between a $100K one and a $25K one. My wife drives Vettes....just sold her 08 Z06 with 3K miles that I bought for $47K, drove 3 mos and sold for $50K. Currently she has a blue 07 base Coupe with 16K miles that I bought for $25K. Should be able to drive it a year or longer for free. Used to buy new ones (base cars) for net net and could drive them a year and get my money back.. Same thing with Chevy trucks. Catch them at $10-$12K off sticker and buy a 20" wheel crew cab cloth and you can drive for free.. Can't do that in a Ford. The Ford GT is special in many ways. Low production, gorgeous styling, LeMans history, low depreciation. That's why I have it. As you can telll....I CAN"T STAND depreciation....and it IS possible to beat it with the right choices. I have stock in Ford and they are definitely on the right track...I think. :thumbsup
