Well, I bought this blue GT from Shelby for a project car, and now that project is done. Originally I had intended to do more to it, but after I saw it at Heffner's I just mentally said "STOP". The car just looks too bad ass to mess with the paint.

After consulting with my man Jason, we decided to do something different with the overall style compared to every other turbo car he's done. The car got 19"/20" HRE Centerbolts with satin black centers and gloss black lips, fitted with Michelin PS2's. The turbo kit was done with satin black piping in favor of the normal polished look. The exhaust system was done in black and exits the Classic Design Concepts bumper delete. The manifold received a ROCKING two tone paint job as well as the valve and coil covers. To give the exterior a tiny bit of shine in there, we did the calipers in the silver used for the stripes on a black car and put on midnite blue Brembo logos. Exoticare's hot buttons were added to brighten up the interior.

Overall, it just looks really, really nasty in person. Me, Hef and Zack from his shop were looking at it, and we were all in agreement it was one of our favorite GT's ever. It's very mean going down the road. At the same time, in the right light, it explodes with color. Just looking at it, I'm reminded why I really wanted Midnite Blue. At the same time, the dust acquired on the 30 miles of Michigan roads over to my parent's house to take some photos reminded me why I got white. :lol

As for the performance? This car is a f&*($#g animal. That's all I can say. I don't know what the deal is, but I've driven plenty of turbo and high powered GT's, and this is by far the fastest one. I have no idea what the difference is. Maybe it's the slightly smaller collectors combined with the new manifold combined with the different diameter wheel/tire combo spinning quicker while having full traction, but it's just extraordinarily fast on pump gas. I'm not kidding when I say this car on pump feels faster than my white car on race gas. Booooo! When we took it down to The GT Guys to get their clamshell hooks done and a general once over, Camilo was blown away at how fast it was. He said that if he anticipated me accelerating in the white car, he could almost keep up, but in this blue car, it was a total lost cause. I'm bummed I only drove it under 100 miles.

So here's some photos. Took it over to let it make some new friends. Brought the blue and the white GT over, and got these with my Dad's new Heritage and his GT500KR.

Heffner knew it was coming when I asked him if I should keep this one and sell the white one. Ultimately, having watched the white one get built from the ground up, there is no way I can ever part with it. So the blue one moves on. It's on the way to Shelby now and should shortly be up for the taking.

"Flipping" is such a harsh word. I prefer to think of it as finding a new "home"...like for a pet...or the term pre-loved.....perhaps a "matchmaker":biggrin:lol

Bitchin cool!!

You must have been using a wide angle lens on your camera for the photo taken of the drivers side of all three cars. The Heritage car looks short and small compaired to the outer cars. 20mm ? :cheers

Wow. There are few GTs, besides my black no striper, that stop me dead in my tracks thinking I need that. A twin turbo blue no stripe car with center bolt wheels. Sweeeet.
Now if I could only think of something to trade to Shelby ????

Yeah.

I spent a lot of time looking over this car when I was at Heffners shop a few weeks ago. It is an amazing car. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Pretty damn wicked.

I think you are right to keep the white, but I am prejudiced. The 3 of those cars together makes a great picture. You should commission C. Pardo to do his magic.

I would say that my Dad is just really small so they built him a junior size GT, but yes, it was a I think a 10-20 mm. :lol

One fine looking car. :thumbsup Blue was a first choice, but "michigan dust" as you said, kept me to an easier color to maintain.

looks like the black sheep of the family.:biggrin its real nice, I like! especially the black satin turbo cold side

Don't tell Frank, but your observations just confirm that the blues are the fastest.

It is beautiful Dave. I guess I am thankful that I already have a blue GT. :lol

We are on stand by! Should see her by tomorrow along with my GT3-RS! :)

of those 3 cars the blue one by far looks the best :thumbsup

Dave, Isn't the blue GT the GT that Rick Titus originally purchased from Ford thats in the 2005 owners video? His GT wound up in Houston for a while then sold to Shelby. At one time I was going to purchase it from Rick as I couldn't get an allocation from Ford as I was a small Ford Dealer but a dealer in Abilene let me order what I wanted and I purchased it from him and not Ricks. When I saw it in Houston it had Carroll Shelbys signature on the dash (very few have actually signed by Carroll as he can no longer get into them). He signed mine in April of 2007 and told me it would be the last. The blue GT you have looks awsome with the mods. You should keep it- its got history. Tomy Hamon

The old gal looks great. I really like what you've done to it. Makes me think.

John

It is that one Tomy. I have actually had it twice already. Sold it to JCSB in Houston who only put 300 miles on it and then sold it to DBK. Now she is back again, but with a VERY different look.....
It is the one that is signed by Carroll Shelby

Wow, absolutely stunning!

I like the lack of polish in the gal's engine bay; mucho

Very nice
