I am getting a take off Ford Racing exhaust. I did the searches here and realize there are likely better options out there, but given the price (slightly used) and the fact that to me it looks better it seemed the way to go. I am a Corsa fan and have them on my Vipers and CTS-V and love the sound.

Compared to stock given my low expectations, will I like it better or have I wasted my time? My sense is what I am getting is minimal better sound and a better look. Agree Thanks

I have the Ford Racing Exhaust by Borla. I like it quite a bit. It's lighter - if the weight matters to you - and the sound is a bit deeper and grumblier than stock - though not a lot. I only wanted a slightly deeper grumble, so it suited my desires perfectly. Anything too loud would have discouraged my wife from riding with me.

I had mine jet-hot coated after I bought it. I also bought mine used, which made it worth while for me as they are pretty pricey new for a fairly small change. Make sure to buy new exhaust gaskets before installing.

Slightly more grumble, much less weight, the box looks the same to me, just smaller (I guess the tips are better). Make sure all of the weld seals look good before you install it. Some of the early production Borla's had issues.

I, too, am very satisfied with my Borla.

I have bought two of these used and like them. It is lighter than stock, looks great with the bumper delete and is not too loud. I don't really notice it being louder from inside.

Biggest point - no drone at 2K rpm.

I absolutely LOVE my Borla.

I have an Accufab X-pipe as well, and even though the X pipe sounds better I could not live with it. It is way too loud.

The Borla is great from the inside but also got several compliments from other drivers or bystanders. It really kicks in after 4,500rpm.... which is perfect.

I could not stand the resonance of the X-pipe at 2k and it was unconcievable for me to drive the car for long trips (Le Mans, Ring, Stelvio etc... all >1000 miles) with it.

And as a plus the Customer Service from Borla has been absolutely fantastic!

I absolutely LOVE my Borla....

Me too, except my Borla is slightly different (M-9430-GTX)

Nah.....you want headers and straight through pipes! :thumbsup

That way there's no need to worry about any "droning" at 2K RPM !!

(Only screaming, howling, popping and banging between 1K and 8K ! - I LOVE mine.....my neighbours?.......not so much!) :biggrin

I have the borla, looks OEM with the ford logo stamped into the top of the box. It is a good balance of not being too loud. Yes the tips look good. Also if in the future you do a bumper delete, you will be able to buy new shorter tips that can be bolted on, instead of replacing or cutting and welding to make shorter. If you got it for a good price, and not loud enough, you could always either change to an x-pipe, or add headers. I have wanted to make mine louder, but too many other projects have come along, and have gotten in the way. It is way better than the OEM IMO.....

Both Borlas that I bought came with both the long and short (bumper delete) tips.

NICE, I got mine a probably 4 years ago now back when the borla was the ONLY option (x-pipes had not come yet), and bumper delete had not happened, so I only got the long ones.

Both Borlas that I bought came with both the long and short (bumper delete) tips.

Mike-

Are you saying the you bought the Borlas new and they came with two sets of tips?

I am totally happy with my Shadowman exhaust. It's quiet when I want it to be but when I get on it, "Release the Dragons!". Love it

Agreed. From what I have seen it looks like the best package with the exception of deleting the cats. The older I get the less likely I will want to take the cats on and off to pass my emmissions test. Just got my first test notice from the state :ack

We'll see how much I enjoy doing that, have a year before my first test is due.
