cool car... overall.

I saw these cars at SEMA in Nov 2008. Great looking cars. They are made by HiTech/Superformance for Shelby

That gives me wood!!

Curious what the prices are without having to make a call.

Somewhere I heard that to get the "Carroll Shelby" signatures, the price goes up in the neighborhood of $50-100K. Otherwise, it's the same as a standard Superformance GT40.

If you were to have a continuation GT40 ,that would be it .

I have a Magic Marker I'll loan out, for that kinda price-spread...ouch.
Still...it's a Superformance, no matter whose signature's on it. Where's the value? I'll bet our cars are equal if not superior in performance and creature comfort...

ouch!!! I think I might know an "artist" that can replicate that signature for 1/2 that! :wink

As of a year ago, $85,000 without engine/transmisson.

Superformance GT40s

A couple of our forum members own these cars. A very nice repro. I have seen them used with very low miles (complete & registered) for way under $80K. At one time I thought I wanted one & almost bought an ERA GT40. After driving in it I'm glad I have the real thing - our GTs!

Supersize it.

Gentlemen,

I have also driven a Superformance GT40 on the street and on the track. They are beautiful cars and draw a lot of attention. But for someone with a big gut like me, they are hard to get in and out of, and I don't fit very well. There's a good reason why Ford made the new GT 20% larger than the original. The Superformance is also much harder to drive, especially on the track.

The Ford GT makes everything easy. Light & responsive steering, predictable handling, and excellent progressive brakes. The Superformance GT40 is entertaining to drive, but crude by comparison. The interior of the Ford GT displays the refinement of a production automobile, the Superformance car didn't have the benefit of the Ford GT's multimillion dollar development budget.

I would still like to have a Superformance GT40, but only after I acquire my second Ford GT.

Guys

I was at a car show recently ansd as much as I appreciate the superformance product as I would like to get an SPF cobra I canniot beleive that you guys are even comparing our cars to a replica , the inside of the cars , the door thresholds , the engine bay , etc. are far from refined .

The one thing I like more than anything else when I go into the garage is my car is not a replica nor will it ever be compared to one , I like to think I spent the kind of coin I did for a reason
