Was it under warranty, and if not, would you share the cost of the exchange?

Did you first remove the center console and verify that the linkage is properly adjusted? I ask because it takes a special tool and I have found a couple with this issue which went away after being adjusted.

Takes care

I could try :thumbsup - it happens (gear poppes out) when the engine is warm and while you release the clutch paddel (after you switched in 3rd gear) or sometimes also with engaged gear after breaking (and pressing the clutch paddel) gear poppes out.
Would be nice if you could send me more details of your experience and maybe some instructions what to check exactly (and fix) in order to avoid a tranny exchange if possible. Warranty? I never had one as I (grey-) imported the car in 2006 to Germany.

No Warranty - Of course I would love to share the costs with you Ralphie :biggrin

Good one Desi. Make sure Ralphie pays in cash (Euros).

The symptoms as shared have been experienced and resolved by properly adjusting the linkages/cables.

The process is easy but requires the Ford/Ricardo specific tool.

Do you have a Ford dealer? If yes then ordering the tool should not be a problem.

All the best
