In the midst of the daily barrage of negative headlines than greet us every morning when we open the newspaper or turn on the TV, a little positive news is most welcome. As most of our members are fans of the Ford Motor Company, here is some good news!
Last month (June), the Ford Motor Company's U.S. market share jumped to 18% from 14.6% last year. For the first time in nearly 2 years, Ford is increasing production over last year's levels. For the 4th month in a row, Ford outsold Toyota in United States. During the month of June alone Ford outsold Toyota by over 23,000 vehicles in the U.S.
In the second quarter, although total U.S. sales were down from the year before, Ford fared significantly better than all of its major rivals which resulted in Ford's substantial gain in market share.
Ford ------ down 11%
Toyota --- down 35%
Honda ---- down 32%
GM ------- down 36%
Chrysler -- down 44%
Nissan ---- down 26%
In Canada, June results were even more impressive as Ford was the only major manufacturer to increase sales AND, for the first time in a quarter century..........
Ford was the #1 selling brand of vehicles in Canada!! :banana
Canadian sales figures for June--
Ford -------- up 25% :banana
GM ------- down 31%
Honda ---- down 17%

Countless Americans, some who have never purchased a Ford before, have decided to support America's last independent automaker and their country by making their next new car or truck a Ford.
