4 days and 50 pounds of polish get the job done. Thank God for orbital buffers.

That has to be the BIGGEST polishing project I have ever seen! :eek Looks absolutely fantastic!! :thumbsup

Great photos. If you ever get the chance, see the Enola Gay at the National Air and Space Museum. It was given a top notch restoration and looks terrific. I love the old war birds.

A long, hot, sweaty - but ultimately satisfying job.

Nice plane DBK. What kind of gas mileage does she get? ;)

Fuddy Duddy came to a local airport several years ago and I had the good fortune to fly in it over Chester and Lancaster counties. The inside is just as nice as the outside. Everything's there from the twin 50s in the rear to the Nordon in the nose.

4 days, 50 pounds of Meguiars and How many buffing pads? damn that is one nice job when it's done.

That brings back memories of my youth when my friends and I used to do the polishing of my Dad's P-51. I was very happy when he had it painted silver!

I can't imagine the scale of work doing a B-17, but it sure looks nice. I'm surprised it only took 50 Lbs. Or did you mean 50 Gals?

86 lbs I heard. Some Rolite, some custom. Either way, impressive job!
