Looks like there were two Chicago-area owners before it went to Galpin in CA.

Anyone have any info about this car's previous life?

Did they disclose the repairs (front right body and possibly suspension) work that was done on this car??

I have made a specific request as to whether any bodywork or paintwork was EVER done to this car, but they haven't replied yet.

For the record, I don't KNOW if this car had any work done to it. There are just some circumstances regarding the timeframe of a Tungsten no-stripe being repaired there and then this one offered for sale by them. Could be two completely different vehicles. I would recommend to proceed with caution. I'm close, let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

I sold that car to Galpin over 6 months ago. Bought it from the LAST owner in Chicago. Car had not ever had any damage at the time when I sold it to them. Cant speak for the time since then.

I have a blue no stripe if you are interested Center....

Kendall and Shelby, thanks for the info!

And, I think there was only ONE owner out of chicago. I think he just moved to a new address during his ownership if I remember correctly....

Do major parts (doors, hood, etc.) on the GT have little VIN stickers like normal cars (so you can tell if they are the original parts)?

Yes. There are on the inside of the doors towards the front. The front bonnet/hood does NOT have vin stickers.
Also the fenders DO have vin stickers on the inside, but good luck getting in there to see them

All of the gals in my facility have vin stickers on the bonnet too

It is located underside in-between the large ducts; awkward to see but there

All body panels are to be delivered with these stickers

Takes care

If I'm not mistaken you can pull the side maker light out and see the sticker on the fender. The hood does not have a sticker that I have seen, but the nose piece does, its right about under the Blue Oval on the bottom side, only visable with the nose off.

Absolutely,Shadowman is correct, they do have vin stickers on the hood, mine does and they are hard to see as Bill noted.

Punch, there was a tungsten in Chicago that was on e-bay several times that had been covered with large decal, advertisement stickers. Shelby seems to know this car, so maybe he can confirm.

Not the same car. The one covered in stickers was a stripe car.... We never owned that car.

As for the vin sticker, I will double check with the 6 GTs we have in stock right now. For some reason I was thinking the front bonnet did not have them. Guess my meremory failed me this time... :confused

Guys, thanks for all the great info.

Shelby, I"ve seen your gorgeous blue no-stripe car- that's similar to the one I used to have. Too hard for a slob like me to keep clean- if I get another one (bangs head on desk) it would have to be silver or tungsten.

No-stripe, of course.

I have confirmed what Shadow is saying (not that I questioned him :biggrin ) The vin sticker on the front bonnet is on the very underside in between the swells. You got to stick your head down in the trunk compartment and look up!

I know the where abouts of a silver no stripe car. PM me.

HH, pm on the way.

As for the Galpin tungsten, got a prompt, detailed response, which included:

Hello Paul,

I double checked the history of the car and spoke with Shelby Smith from Elite Autos (we purchased the car from him for our customer) and by all accounts the car has never had any body work done. Shelby told me that someone on one of the GT forums may have seen a car we have had in service here and confused the two cars- here's a picture of the two cars together.
