Why is the general public so stupid when it comes to the facts of our market downturn? Everyone blames Bush and not the Democratic congress which had far more liability for it. Chris Dodd and Barney Frank in particular are to blame. Clinton allowing a separation of investment and commercial banking! Lack of oversight and greed on Wall Street! And all I can hear is the Nancy Pelosi talking about failed Bush policies...what does tax relief have to do with this crisis? Sorry, it drives me crazy. I am a registered independent. And have taken pride in the fact that in the past I have been nonpartisan. But the past few years have really pushed me strongly toward the Republicans (and I am not that crazy about Bush!).
Why does Obama not understand that increasing taxes on the so-called wealthy impacts the middle class? If you increase my taxes, guess what...I buy less, give less to charity, travel less...yes, this impacts my lifestyle, but businesses employing mostly the middle class are affected more! I buy one less capaccino a day....I am taking one less international vacation/year. That's less revenue for the businesses I tend to support. Also, as a physician and business owner, when our revenues drop or benefits increase, what happens? We look for ways to cut costs...from who? the so-called middle class!

I am really dumbfounded by the 'denial of guilt' on the part of the libs all the way down the line. THEY pushed the CRA thru the Dem congress in '77 - and CARTER signed it...and THAT ONE ACT is THEE genisis of our present banking meltdown situation. And BOY DO THEY GET ANGRY when vids of them giving their whole hearted SUPPORT of both (witness Barney Frank) are brought up!
Especially pitiful in all this is Maxine Waters' comments (if you've seen that vid). The woman is either totally CLUELESS or in the tank...or both. How blind does one have to be to declare Frank Raines did a maaaaahvaaaluss job runnin' Fanny and that nothing's "broke"?
