My cooling upgrade (project) lots of pics

So does the wot button on the floor prevent the nitrous system from engaging until the throttle is floored?

Never messed with nitrous.

Excellent install btw. Can't get much cleaner than that.

Yes that is correct. the throttle has to be in wide open position then the nitrous can be activated via the shifter switch, this was done as to prevent the nitrous coming on before going wot. which could be dangerous, and expensive:biggrin

What were the dyno results before the nitrous system addition please?

Very nice set up. What were/are your goals for this system?

my goal for this set up was 860hp but I think we are going to surpass that number:eek at least I hope we do. I would like to run with the tt guys, even if it is only for 2 minutes at a time:biggrin

Is this the 50 shot setup you tried to explain to me Wally?

Nice install. Would love to see and hear this on a Dyno in operation - with a graph of course.:thumbsup:thumbsup

hopefully you will see the car at the rally if you are coming, it will be my pleasure to give you a ride.:wink

Very nice looking install.
How does it work? Do you have to hold the button on the shifter? I would think you might want both hands on the wheel : )

1. push down all the way on the throttle.
2. wait untill you get to 3000 rpms.
3. push the shifter switch.
4. haaaang on!:biggrin

no I never have both hands on the steering wheel my hand is always on the shifter in anticipation for the next upcoming gear. which occurs rather rapidly.

I was wondering who was going to do this Mod

Very Very nice work and a fantastic pictorial:thumbsup

Love that Black Whipple ..BTW

its meeeeee, and thank you, although I think I suck at photography :cheers

That is most impressive. Would love to see it engaged.

I will be happy to show you at the rally:cheers

Post up the graph man !!!

torrie your not going to believe this, In my excitment and the fact that I had spend the better half of the day dynoing the car, when it made 825 I was so happy and I left with out getting the graph I didnt even look at the tq numbers but not to worry Im going back tomorrow for a car show there and I will get the graphs for the runs and will post them,

Has anyone figured out I still dont know how to respond to multiple people on one post help please.

Understood!!:cheers

The only space to store anything in the GT taken up by a HUGE NOS tank.......LOVE IT:thumbsup

Lets see some dyno results:biggrin

GT-Mania to a new level

:rofl

Think of it this way 100 more horses in that little bit of space. Plus it keep the junk in the trunk from rubbing on the hood paint.

Sam are you ready to be armed and dangerous.....:banana.

Yes that's what I was talkin' about, but only 50, 100 is better:thumbsup. But, we have to rig it up on your car. I have been banned from the evil gas since I blew up my Mom's motor with a rental car kit we cobbed together one night at Irwindale 24 years ago.

That was before the good solonoids and any good electronics to regulate it. It pretty well scienced out these days. It hung in there for 3 passes. And didn't break until we got to Valecito about 2 blocks from your place.

Nice install and images. Where is the pick-up located in the nitrous bottle? Allan

30 degrees (toward the back of the car) from vertical, the bottle has a slight angle to it, its not 20 degree but maybe 10 there just was not enough room to angle it 20 deg.

Try this as I just figured out how to do this the other day. If you look next to the quote button on each post there is a (" +) button. Just click on each one you want to respond to and then hit quote as the rest is self explanatory. Good Luck:cheers

got it thanks I was wondering what that was for.:cheers

dyno graph

here it is as promised, you can clearly see where the nitrous is activated, around 3700 and he let off well before 7000rpm redline the tq is crazy and the nitrous can be activated after 3000 rpms.

Wow !! That is awesome! Very nicely done .
Not knowing a lot about nitrous ,I am curious about the tank in the trunk .I know that what little I put in the trunk gets very hot .Is this any problem or issue with the nitrous tank ?

GREAT question

I would suspect that the temperature will cause some loss of efficiency however this is easy to overcome by wrapping the bottle in a chiller blanket

BTW: you did a wonderful job of integrating the system and it remained my pleasure working with you from afar.

All the best and be safe
