Safe low-RPM range

...That is at about 1025 rpm, which seems to me to be lugging the engine and not very good or economical...Previous posts suggested that one should stay above 1800 or 2000 rpm.


"NUTS" to the former..."right on" to the latter.

1K rpm at highway speeds is just ridiculous IMO. Like I mentioned before, I tried to keep mine at no lower than 2K - 1,800 at the least - no matter what the speed limit was. 'Just picked a gear that was appropriate to give me that rpm range.

That means EP always had his foot on the gas pedal when idling in the garage. :lol

I put it in 6th whenever I cross 65ish mph. Never thought about it.
