If you ever make it out to Utah for an event at Millers, you will love it in a GT...The straightaway alone is almost a mile long, the full course is 4.9 miles with 23 turns...
Here is a little video clip from one sessionhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKPAzjiYvfc

Great track! Swallowed the Porsche and the Mini :)lol) on the straight.

Look forward to seeing video when you get the internal mic setup.

:cheers

Very Nice Miller Vid

RaceDeck - looks like you were having too much GT fun.

Nice driving. Very smooth. I like that.

What would be a good time there in the GT? Long course.

I visited Miller a couple of weeks before it was finished . Carolyn was nice enough to show me around. I had thought about, and am still considering, buying a place just outside of Town. And leasing one of the permanent garages.

Miller is one of the nicest, if not the nicest, facilities in the country. You are fortunate to have it in your backyard.

That's a huge track. In a GT you would probably see 170 on the straight. I watched the AMA Superbike race last year and they were seeing huge speed on that track...

Nice video, thanks for the post.

I love that track. It was made for a GT. I think the Porsche left the field after you removed his door with that 180mph fly by.

Keep 'em coming.

What kind of camera mount did you use to shoot that? Looks like you mounted it outside on the passenger window. Just want to know what kind of mount can stand up to that much wind.

More Video

Since the time that video was taken I bought a new camera set up. If is a digital Chase Cam. Very cool, much better sound and you can do two cameras.
Here you can see the first time I used it in a Vintage Race http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3voJMy554Ro The quality is much better than You Tube shows.

here is one where I forgot the front view camera and only the rear camera is on...pretty cool view http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9c1paKKITw

I plan on putting the camera in my GT next time I take it to the track. On street tires I have run a best of 3:04 on the full track, I think with real track tires it could easily drop 10 seconds. ( I would probably also change out the pads to something more aggressive. )

I would also love to get some video of a canyon run at speed ( of course it would be a closed road:cheers)

cool GT vid

That was way cool Racedeck. I plan on taking my GT to Miller next year. When I was checking out your vid on Youtube I found one of me at Thunderhill. You can also see my GT blow by cars at 140mph.

Ed

PS I didn't close my front lid all the way so I had the track worker do it before going out!

Thundehill

Racedeck - I love Thunderhill. The GT commercial was filmed there (along with many other commercials). It's only 90 miles from my house; and though, Sears Point/Infineon is only 70 miles away I'd rather go to T-hill any day. When I raced with the SCCA our San Francisco Region club started T-hill so I've been there since day one. It's really a racer's track. Safe with a cool layout. I hope you can make it out this way some time.

Wow. What a great track. Definitely looks like it favors high HP cars. Were you running on street rubber?

Very entertaining - you certainly dusted a lot of cars in that second video. You sure carried the momentum well. :thumbsup One wonders what the top speed in the Vette is on the straight? We look forward to your next post of the GT Cam with engine sound.
