I am not sure the GT will go into 1ST at speed, I haven't and will not try and Jam it into 1ST above recommended speed, but it sounds Fishy. I think he just Lost it and made up a story like it was the cars fault.

I don't know about the GT going into first instead of third, but I can tell you that a Panoz GTS racer certainly will. The result with the Panoz is exactly as was described with the GT. Ask me how I know...With racing adrenaline flowing through ones veins it is amazing how a hard shift can be "easy".
