Ford SYNC with Voice Control & Touchscreen

With the current iteration, I cannot for the life of me get SYNC to use my iPhone's GPS and voice turn directions when paired in my Ford rentals. It used to be no problem as the turn-by-turn commands from my iPhone would supersede the radio transmissions over the vehicles entertainment system when appropriate. Not anymore.

Microsoft is out and the new Sync 3 is supposed to be better. I use it sparingly, but have an older version. The new GT is supposed to have 3.

Sync 3 - I just want an available palette of new 'voices' with the thing. Heck, my old Volvo at least gave me a choice. So when I miss a turn in the nav mode, I get a really nice Aussie girl, instead of the synthetic Silicon Valley guy.
After all, now that Ford is officially is "high tech" (see Google pairing), should be low hanging fruit?? :biggrin
