Gentlemen,

During the Saturday rally drive through Death Valley the entire group stopped at a bar in a small town for a few beers and pizza. When I got up to leave I left my camera in that bar so I have two questions. First, am I incredibly lucky and did somebody pick it up? It's in a small light brown woven vinyl case. The camera itself is a compact Canon Digital. If nobody picked it up, can somebody tell me the name of the town and the name of the bar and I'll give them a call. Perhaps somebody handed it to the bartender. Yeah I know it's a long shot, but I've got some really great pictures on that camera that I'd really like to have. Thanks in advance to anybody who can give me some information.

Yeah baby!!!!

Gentlemen,

Armed with the information provided to me in this thread I was able to call that establishment and speak to the bartender. Although she did not have my camera, she was also pretty sure I didn't leave it on the bar. Even if someone else had taken it she told me she probably would have seen it at some point. That conversation took me back to the drawing board. I had searched all of my bags and both of our cars thoroughly. And that turned on a light in my age dimmed brain. I went back out to the garage and got out the little red car care materials case that was given to all participants during the opening night's cocktail party and reception and......BINGO. Inside was two black squeeze bottles of car cleaning stuff and my camera full of rally photo's. I would not have found it for some time had I not called that bar as I was certain I had left it there. Thank you for your help.

Good news indeed. Don't feel too bad - there have been times I've spent 20 minutes looking for glasses on my head, keys that were in my pocket, and other items in my hand.

I can beat that...I was on the phone with my girlfriend, as I was running around my house trying to find my phone...Took me about 5 minutes to figure that one out...

I left a brand new digital camera at a packed Vegas casino bar on July 4th, didn't realize it was gone for two days. I can be forgetful :confused and I went to two other places that I thought I left it before trying the casino as a last ditch effort. Like you more concerned with the pics than the camera. The bartender had picked it up and turned it in to security and I got it back. I tipped the security guy and checked back into the bar a couple times till I found the bartender and dropped a big tip on him as well. It is too cool when you actually have a great experience with strangers doing the right thing. :thumbsup

Now where in the house did I leave my money clip????

Chip don't feel so bad I have a similar story. A few years ago some friends of ours decided we should all go to Hawaii to enjoy the weather for about 10 days (you know the story: beach stuff, golf, drinkin and drinkin and drinkin):eek Well anyway on the last full day of our stay we decided to go golfin again so we were drinkin and golfin and then drinkin again (and soo on). So, we fly home and a couple of days later the wife says do you have the camera from the trip? :eek:eek:eek I said to her I think so (with a very weak voice) it must be in my golf bag (of course the camera was brand new right before we left and it was her camera). I go out and look in the golf bag and NO camera:frown I explain that I remember taking pictures on the golf course but I don't remember putting the camera back in my bag. :ack Well, I call the golf course and no luck in finding the camera (and of course I didn't believe them). Well, about a year and a half later we decided to remodel the kitchen and as we were cleaning out the kitchen drawers wallah the wife says who's camera is this.:lol:lol:lol I had put the camera in an Oakley sunglass bag and now you know the rest of the story (we still don't know how the camera got in the drawer). Yes, I was only worried about the pictures myself and I am still looking for my memory (If anyone finds it please let me know):willy. Glad your camera showed up as well from your very important trip:cheers

It must be contageous, today I found my favorite pair of sun glasses I couldn't find before the Rally. There were in my garage under my GT cover all the time, where I placed them. My GT GIRL giggled flashed the lights once and Sue Said "another senior moment". I seem to have a lot of them lately. Tomy PS With GT, Forum and Rally on my mind lately these (senior moments happen quite often). Look what you young guys have to look forward too.

Lost my whole set of house and office keys once. Had to get a whole new set of copies. Turned the house and garage upside down without finding them. A year later, I'm cleaning out the garage and move my tool box and there they are. Put them on top of the box, then opened it and they fell behind it. I thought I was going senile.

Lost the Keys - You Bet

Many moons ago I lost the keys to the cars, house, work etc. Turned everything inside out, upside down, house, garage. Spent the whole weekend looking, looking, looking....

Got an estimate on Monday to re-key everything. As I remember is was going to be $3,000. Which was NOT in my budget or nor bank account at that time.

So we looked some more. Same places but found nothing. My wife was moving the recliner back to its normal spot. She pulled up the foot rest and one of the springs made a twangy noise. So we turned the chair upside down ....

And of course the keys were stuck between one of the coils on the spring.

We certainly slept better that night.

I used to lose my keys so often I bought a key chain that would beep when you whislted if they were nearby. It was great.....until they fell out of my pocket while I was skiing one day. :bored

We had eight of us skiing down the mountain whistling trying to find them without any success. :lol
