115 Years of Ford Racing

October 10 marks the 115th anniversary celebration of Ford Racing. And where else should it take place, but at Greenfield Village. A small gathering on a nice sunny day to mark the occasion, attended by Edsel, Henry III and Dave Pericak, they took turns riding around in the 1901 Sweepstakes replica. Nice to see the guys again, lots of enthusiasm. ;-))

Before they put it in the museum, they need to paint the mirrors red. We red GT owners recall with delight the "Red 68" (mirrors, windshield stripe, and windshield LED light strip) proved that Red is the fastest color by winning Le Mans!

I was told at Cota, that the race winning bodywork has been cleared, in its race used condition, to save the patina. It will be put back on the car. I would guess it will wind up at the Henry ford?
