Fuel Rail

Saturday I noticed the smell of gas. I couldn't remember if it was always there. I thought that it might be comming from the fill. This morning it was stronger and I traced it to the Fuel Rail( I didn't know that's what it is called until I took it to the local Dealer). A nice drip onto the engine(not a good thing). They ordered one and said they should have it this week.
Has anyone had this problem?

Had my passenger side fuel rail replaced about 2 weeks ago for the same leakage.

I was told that it was one piece which included both sides and the crossover?

Which dealer did you use and have they worked on many GT's before?

I have a shore house near you but haven't found any dealers I would trust to work on my car.

When the rails are replaced, do they have to replace the injectors and seals?

I also had a leak at the passenger side fuel rail fitting. A hose clamp seemed to have solved it, so I also put one on the driver side fitting for good measure.

Very interesting that multiple cars had leaks several years ago, and then none seem to have been reported recently.

Other forum members have mentioned this before. Read these threads. Maybe I need to get that Safecraft system quickly.

We had this issue on our car, I believe it was the fuel pressure regulator O-ring.

ditto .... had to fix mine when we got back from the rally.

I read the other posts and someone said they put a clamp on the hose. The Dealer told me that the rubber is only a cover for the metal fuel line and the fittings can not be repaired, thus a new Rail is needed!!
