I too love the 458, but I'm still more enamoured of the 12C. On one of the other forums I frequent, Graham Rahal (Indycar driver, so he probably knows a bit more about vehicle dynamics and performance than most) said that he prefers the McLaren 12C over the 458 or Porsche GT3 RS4.0. He also has a Carrera GT he loves. We need to get him into a Ford GT. What a trinity that would be, Macca, CGT and FGT. My kinda garage. LOL."

This is from a local cars and coffee in Indy that he attended in Early May. Nice rides to say the leastand it sure does not hurt to be a Rahal!

At last month's Hennessy Half Mile top speed event, my 12C was 10mph faster than the 458 every time - I ran 158, best run for the Fezza was 148. I was not using launch control too so reckon I could have hit 160-ish with it. There are videos showing drag races between the two cars, 12c wins every time. On tracks, Top Gear put the 12C as quickest ever except for the V8 Ariel Atom, quicker than. bug Grand Sport Veyron even.

As far as ride and usability, the Mac is better than my wife's Lexus, its an amazing vehicle.

The GT is more fun though!
