    Default Think I'm SOL...

I locked all of my keys/remotes under the hood. Doors locked as well. Am I calling the Ford dealer in the morning to get a key made, or is there some other way in? I am kicking myself in the head for bought so careless...

Locksmith to pick the hood lever? Although all you would need from the dealer is a standard key to open it, it won't have to be mated to the ECU to start the car. I've thought of keeping one cut to my door in my wallet since I tend to just leave the key hanging on the switches when I get out.

I've seen keys with a flat "T" top without the plastic molding that are the same blank but basically fit in the "keyholder" inside some wallets. Mine has a place for one. That's what made me think of it.

    FBA,

Somebody did this during the road rally at Rally II in CA. One of our members was able to get in there by pulling on the cable without a key and saved the day. Contact the GT Guys and they can probably tell you how to do it.

That was me, Chip. In this case the bonnet was not fully closed and with a length of wire I was able to fish the keys out of there.

FYI - I was also to get Joy Ride's door open when he locked his keys in the car while on the group drive at last year's rally. In this case, I used my GT key in his door lock. I slowly rocked the key back and forth but mostly kept pressure counter-clockwise as a slowly (1/16" at a time) withdrew the key. Not sure if it was just a fluke but using this technique the lock turned and the door popped open.

I did it at Mojave Mile last year when the wind blew the hood closed. I had to spend most of that day looking for a Ford dealer that could cut a new key. It was not fun.
    All the best...

I remember when Kendall popped JoyRide's door open. We were in that little town after an 1.5 hour drive from SLC.
    Huge victory!
