Oil change ?

Hi,
I recent change the oil on my GT at a ford dealer. I notice the oil level is 2 in. above full on the dip stick.
The dealer said thats fine. Anybody know if that is ok to run it that way ?

As per the 2006 Ford Gt Workshop manual page 303-01-07

The engine oil must be checked within 1 minute of shutting off the engine. The oil level should be within the Min/Max marks on the oil level indicator. Do not overfill the resorvoir past the Max mark.

When did you check it?

i would think 2 inches over is probably about a half quart too much but in several other post here on the same subject it's not a big concern to some .
