It reflashes the stock PCM over the OBD2 port under the dash.

The port is on the LH side below the dash. There is no physical chip to remove.

Yes Torrie, I know the port is under the dash, but where is the serial number for the engine control unit that you need to program the SCT tuner programmer?

Is it on the door jam label? I found this number there. 5GT2S.

Could that be it?

All Ford GT PCM codes 05-06 are AER3

Guys I have taken the plunge and will do the tune only to start, I have ordered the pulley as well to save costs and will most likely put in on in the future,(if not it will be still brand new and maybe one of you guys may buy it) but will do it in stages. The car has the accufab throttle body, insert, and currently tuned for 94 octane. I will add the accufab x pipe also.
Tony G, I spoke to yesterday and he will provide his tuner/tune with a base of all the above - no pulley and another with the pulley on. I will do the tune in stages and keep you guys posted. The pulley is also coming from Tony G as well. He is a great guy to talk to, is passionate about thses cars and is very helpful. Thx Tony G.
Will keep all you guys posted.

Ok guys, I've got the tuner and some instructions. Now, if a monkey on crack can do this, so can I!:banana

Will let you know how it turns out.:ack

But It's Snowing!

DBK was right, even a monkey can do this.

1. Leave car off.
2. Find plug uner the left driver dash.
3. Plug SCT tuner in, it automatically comes on.
4. It should be preloaded with GT Tune.
5. Scholl down to desired program-MAX Power.
6. It tells you to turn on key-not engine.
7. Program downloads.

It starts, but I can't drive it, it is snowing today for the first time in 10 years!:confused

Now I know how Pockets felt all Winter.

See Torrie for this cheap HP upgarade- over 600 hp now!

Torrie if, you can , I have a few stupid questions.

What is the A/F ratio you are seeing on the tune only.

And where are you picking it up A/F from, can I use the rear O2 bung when on the dyno or are you putting in a sniffer. We tried the sniffer with mixed success on a dyno.

Where are you picking up the tach signal. We clipping around the bundle of coil pack wires coming off the valve cover and it was fuzzy and would at times get a goofy torque reading.

Do you have any graphs comparing the tune showing A/F and HP/TQ. I would like to compare to stock.

If I did a stock pull and loaded the program could I do a pull with the new program right after, or should I go drive it around and strap it back on.

Sorry for all the questions, we found a good clean local place to do some pulls on a dyno jet, but they are not Ford guys. I hate to drive 60 miles one way for just a pull if I don't have too.

You can Pm me if you prefer.

My personal target AF is 12:1 we pull an 02 and read it directly. Skip the sniffer if you can you can pull a primary up top pretty easily.

You can load the program to the vehicle and do a pull instantly after. There is no learning for OL/WOT

You get the tach signal from the green test wire on the drivers side. Picture to follow momentarily.
