DIY oil change night with new GT—not really .

What you need to change your oil on the NFGT:

First, horrifically expensive oil/filter. But, I’m a sucker for anything with the GT logo, so I’ll buy more. Logo needs to be added to filter. (And tires).

Next, a last minute call to your local master mechanic when you feel a panic attack coming on realizing that if something goes wrong I’m fully capable of being the cause.

Next, added lubrication from the refrigerator as mechanic ,( who builds drag strip cars )and I begin getting nervous. Him not so much except for me constantly saying, “are you sure?” He is also light on insurance.

Last, STORMCAT’s cell number as I start envisioning something other than oil might flow from the bolt we are wrenching .

In the end , I was quite proud of myself for having the courage for taking on this project . Back to an article I’m working on for Popular Mechanics. Call me with any questions. I have STORMCAT on speed dial .

Frankly, all kidding aside it’s an easy oil change-much more so than 05/06. The filter is a normal filter and someone would have to convince me that Castrol 5/50 with or without GT on the bottle is that much different than anyone else’s , but what do I know?
