ClearPlex windshield film failed me... or did it?

Super helpful @PeteK. What do you mean by the shedding part? I've heard that some windshield protectors break down or crack over 2-3 years time. Is that what you're referring to or something else?

No, by “shedding” I meant deflecting. I.e., the film deflected/shed the usual road debris of small gravel, wood chips, and such without obvious damage to the film. I should also note that in the time I had the Clearplex on it, I put about 20,000 miles on the car, so it got a fair a amount of use.
