Bridgestones it will be. I’ll get them from Tire Rack where I have bought many tires in the past. Now if I can find a set of those optional BBS wheels to replace the clunky 6 spoke cast wheels that came with the car I would be in hog heaven.

OUCH!

May I suggest a little change to your clunky 6 spokers that I personally think is a big improvement. :biggrin

Or Amazon.

FWIW, I have tried to order the Motorcraft transsaxle specific gear oil listed on Amazon.

They have sent me the generic transmission oil twice now. I am done, They obviously did not read my return reasoning from the first shipment. I don't have the desire to keep trying. Tires might be an even bigger hassle.

Have those 6 spoke cast wheels on that blue FGT been polished and then coated with a layer of clear epoxy?

I personally love the design of the 6 spoke, much better looking than the BBS version. I just wished the 6 spoke was a forged design though.

No the finish is OEM. I just removed the clunky center cover and utilized center caps from an optional wheel offered for FORD trucks.

Campgreenlake: Before you change your tires, you should go do a bunch of donuts and burnouts with the old rubber. Make lots of smoke and noise and get it on video and post it here!

ma.
I am in the market to replace the tires on my 2005 GFT. When I purchased the car from the previous owner in 2011 I replaced all the tires because the car was a very early Phase I unit with a November 9, 2004 build date which meant the tires were at least 7 years old. . Unfortunately at the time I replaced the titres I had not found this great website so I replaced them with the OEM Goodyear Eagles. Wrong move. These tires are now 7 years old and due for replacement. In 2013 I had the GT Guys do a pulley, tune and exhaust upgrade on the car which further exacerbated the traction issue with these tires. I drive the car on a regular basis, having accumulated some 19000 miles to date. I am 88 years old so obviously I don't track the car but if traffic conditions permit I have been known to push it bit. So, given all this background I would really like some recommendations from you experts out there as to what tire make and size I should consider. I want to keep the ride heights as close to original as possible.

.

Keep driving! You are my hero!!!
There is hope for us!

FYI, all Ford dealerships have a price match guarantee and are able to get most any tire. If you are in the market for tires, you should really take a look at your local Ford dealer. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Got another Costco ad today. Bridgestones are on sale again with $150 off a set of 4. Both sizes are listed. Fronts are 339, rears 564. (Prices are today's lookup with the ad going into effect 6/21 so prices might be different when the discount is in effect)
