I totally agree Chip.... I will take a set if they are made

Another solution...

I would also like to preserve the original seats, so I had the original covers removed and had these made.
Cost me 2000$, and the the choice of style is up to you.

I went for a GT40-ish look...

Those look nice... do they have any cushion or just flat covers? Will they leave any lasting indents on the OEM seats?

These were taylor made, and people would have to make a deal with a local upholstery place in order to something similar.
The original seat foam will be fine underneath

I will take a set if I get one of the final allocations.

I would be interested. I would only put them on when letting people get in and out at shows and such. All it takes it for one sharp object in a pants pocket and depression sets in.

I'm in. Like Chip, I've had mine on since new and love them. Originally you had to take them off to put the racing harnesses on, but I had them altered so I don't have to take them off any more. Great when you're caught in the rain.

I would buy a pair. I too have a couple pairs of the original ones on both my 2006 and they still look great!

I'd buy some seat covers if available. Even if they're plain-jane.

I'd also buy a custom CTEK pigtail that had an eyelet on the negative terminal wire and clamp w/locknut of some sort for the negative terminal. Something that made the connect/disconnect process easier. And yeah, I am familiar with the funky routing procedure, but I'm looking for something a little more effective, straightforward, etc.

my 2 cents.

How about the covers my mom had in her car? They were clear plastic with ribs. LOL!

Covering these seats should be against the law!

I’d probably order a set, but to be honest, if the new car’s seats are as well made as the old, I don’t think covers are needed: After 48,000 miles my 06 seats still look good with just a little patina. Is it just me who likes a car to show that it’s actually been used?

I know it's a long shot but if any of you are parting with your 05/06 GT and have a set of the original seat covers for sale please PM me. (as in Chip's photo)

I’d definitely be in for a set. My 2005 seats are holding up remarkably well after 13 years and 31,000 miles, but I’d put covers over the NFGT seats for extra piece of mind and just plan on removing them if/when I needed to see the beautiful design underneath.

I'm going for a human body cover. A soft cushiony jump suit will protect the seats without covering up the beautiful GT seats!
