Factory Thermostat Setting

Does anybody know what was the temp of the 05/06 factory installed thermostat ? My car runs between 200 and 215 or so and it is not even hot out (yet)!

Just wondering if it was a 165 or a 180 or 210??? thermostat?

I'll call it 180, but not sure it's designated that way.

Thermostat starts to open 176 - 184.

Fully open 203.

Typically runs 175 - 190 on the road. Never over 200 except on the track.

Maybe you have air in the cooling system, or a bad thermostat.

I (believe) I had the factory thermostat opening temperature lowered during a Torrie tune (computer software).

Torrie likely turned on the cooling fans at a lower temp (same function happens when you turn on the AC), not the t-stat.

Yes the dealer can lower the setting via computer next time its in for service. I believe mine is set at 180 *F

You are right...fans on earlier (not changing the thermostat temp)!

My car has always run just over 170 with moderate highway driving. In town between stoplights and traffic, it can creep up towards 200.
But, normal airflow back over the radiator and its back down to 170.
Fairly hard track driving. 220.
Normal stock tune.

For those that dont know, car will go into a "limp" mode, before overheating. There is also a bright red light that comes on prior to limp. I have had both happen in track conditions (stock tune, no pulley). ~200 on the street doesn't even raise my eyebrow.
