You dont need to leave the trunk open, you can use the key blade to open the trunk (there is a lock cylinder down near the license plate). I have posted this video before, but might be handy here. This is a video of how to tow a FGT.

NFGT ‘electric’ brakes will automatically lock the brakes and put the car in park after 30 minutes.

That's a good one. Coming from the one with the record driving AND tow truck miles.

Great video Specracer. I wonder if Reliable goes through that electronic procedure on every NGT they deliver? If I remember the video highlights, rather than go through that long electronic procedure, I think I'd just leave the car running in neutral or manually disengage the transmission in the trunk when winching the car. Also it looks like the NGT doesn't have to be left in neutral and the parking brake disengaged like the FGT when strapping it down.

Reliable simply drives them on and off the trailers

If I winch in next time, Ill likely leave it running. Will make steering wheel tweaks easier with the power assist. Use a stick to shut the car off.

Maybe Ill install "The Clapper", that might make things easier.
