I don’t know the inside scoop on that, but I know at least one thing in that piece is accurate: Ford desperately needs a competitive RWD sedan/coupe platform for Lincoln and the next gen Mustang.

Seems to go against the new direction if Ford - trucks and electric self driving cars. How successful was the Chevy SS? How are ATS/CTS sales? If Ford's killing off the Fusion, I doubt we will see a rwd sedan.

that's a common scenario in Detroit. 2 months from now they'll be hiring 5,000 new people for other projects.
