Well, it is out;

I like looking at the Z06 a whole lot better. Not a fan of the Viper style wing.

Why do this if they are replacing the C7 with a C8 Ferrari 360 knock-off?

Maybe because the 360 knock off will be branded as something other than a Chevy Corvette?? Just a guess on my part.

There will be 2 wings available.
One is a short version and the other the tall (Viper like) version.
The short version is much better looking IMHO.

Another possibility is that, yet again, the mid-engine Corvette is about as real as a unicorn.

I guess we'll find out in Chicago.

Too bad they didn't add an active aero rear wing. Unless you were using it solely as a track/race car, the active design is so much more useable such as in the NGT.

Aero done right is really complicated. Probably one of the single biggest feats of the NFGT and no easy task at that. A dynamic rear wing without a lot of other considerations quickly deteriorates into just a gimmick. I think the bowtie guys got it right.

Supercar territory performance for $130k (give or take). Amazing !
This ZR1 is, I think, the best (or damn close) performance numbers you can get out of a Front Engine, RWD platform.
Nice that you can get it A8 and M7 transmission.
The big rear wing (Ala ACR-E) is a welcome addition for them Cars and Coffee gatherings IMHO.

I'd heard a rumor that the announcement will be at the auto show.

IMO, the C7 is too good to kill off for the Mid-engine car. I hope they make it a stand alone model to run in conjunction with the C7.

Viper got it "more right" with the ACR-E ;)

As long as "right" can be measured by sales, it's not even going to be a contest.

I'm liking it! Soon as JW told me about it I called my dealer. Should be fun around the track!
