I understand that 60% of the parts are the same. So not very similar.

I just read the new 2018 F150 3.5 ecoboost is now up to 470lbs in torque. Tow rating is now up to 13,000 lbs.

For a 1/2 Ton!

My 2006 F350 was just a little more than 13,300 lbs

You may not get this in Denmark, but in the US we still get comments about our GTs having truck engines. It's like that. It's a spare truck engine. It's not a spare GT engine.

Who cares, as long as it continues to pull (haul) ass.

Well, our GT 5.4 is even farther removed from the F150 5.4 than the NGT 3.5 is from the F150 3.5.

I don't know about the truck 5.4, but consider that between the GT and GT500, 90% of engine parts are unique to the GT. There is no engine interchangeability.

The NGT shares 70% with the F150. But, there's a big difference in designing an engine to move a 6,000 lb truck vs. a race car.

If the idea is to buy a truck engine as a spare and somehow convert it to 647 hp and fit it in a GT, good luck with that.

Off topic, but I got so tired of the truck engine and GT500 comments that I made this chart to show some of the differences. It's GT 5.4 vs. GT500 5.4, but even greater differences from the truck engine. I have it in a binder that I display at car shows.

Yes, that might not be easy. On the other side it might be an opportunity to just put it on display. The real NFGT engine might not be so cheap.
