Does anyone know the width at the mirrors? I know general width of 76.9. My car is not with me right now. I picked up a new trailer and just noticed some strut braces shrink down my trailer's ID at the mirror height.

Great question. Good luck with the new trailer.

Taping the tape measure with masking tape to the mirror since I didn't have anyone to hold the other end for me, my best estimate is 83"- 84"

right on. it's 83 1/2" tip to tip. wide box trailer required and you still need to winch in and out if you don't have a side access trailer door. mine is 84" between the wheel wells.

Thanks, so the 1/4" clearance on each side has been acceptable? My trailer measures 85-1/2" where the mirrors of my car will sit. It's just narrower pulling it in.

83" between the wheel wells. 4" from floor to the bottom of the concession doors, So my car doors will be able to open. I'm going to contact the manufacturer about strut relocation to get the clearance I need.

There's more than 1/4" clearance on each side. His measurement is between wheel wells. The wall-to-wall measurement is several inches greater than the wheel well measurement.

1/4" clearance at any measurement point would most definitely not be acceptable.

Thanks, I realized that when I re-read NorthwoodGT's post. My narrowest point will be the mirrors and it will be 1" on each side. Closer than I would like, but I think it's manageable.

1" on each side..., that requires some precision driving to load/unload.

Winch the car into and out of the trailer. Stand in front of the car as you winch it in with the corded or remote winch controller.
keep the drivers window down . Tweek the steering wheel right or left as needed as you winch it in .
1 inch per side is plenty.

Problem solved! I used 8" aluminum channel to gain the width at the mirrors. The car fits like a glove, and trailers like a dream! See y'all in Park City!

Nice modification Kevin! What's the story on your tow vehicle, looks like a pretty serious rig?

Where did you source the channel. I'd like to flush mount my e trac for the floor.
Maybe even the walls.
Looks like you can make it non stop to Utah in that rig :)

We call it the Family Truckster, it's an Airstream Interstate. The most amazing part is the whole things is powered by a 180hp 3.0L diesel... It has been the best thing I've ever done for the family. We've been from Key West, Fl to Jackson Hole, Wy and every where in between. We have three young girls and our goal is to get them to all 50 states before they are 18.

I got it from a local metal supply shop. It's 8"x 2-1/4"x 1/4" aluminum channel. Cost is about $20/lf and can be bought up to 24' in continual length.

I did nonstop back from Park City last year in it, only stopping for fuel. It took about 27 hours. We normally do about 7-9 hours a day, stopping in between to explore.

perfect placement of the side door. nice. even with a winch, it's still a bear reaching in and setting the brake and turning the engine off thru the side window.
(or maybe I'm just old) (and fat!) (and non-flexible) or all of the above!

Yep, that's one of the main reasons I wanted this trailer!
